We order regularly for delivery. The first time I've ordered direct from their site and not Just eat and it came SUPER fast - like 20 mins and usually it's 60 plus from JE. Also threw in a ton of complementary Sushi (not sure if this is because I ordered directE). Always amazing

Easily the best Japanese restaurant in Sheffield! I've travelled a lot around Japan and this was just as good as sushi out there! The Okonomiyaki they have on their menu is a little different to the traditional one you'll find in Osaka, but just as tasty! Not that expensive either compared to a lot of Japanese places in the UK. Can't recommend it highly enough!!

I just came back from my experience at Yama Sushi. This is not the first Sushi Restaurant I've tried in Sheffield. I've been to 4 other restaurants. The positive news first:



The 2 dishes of maki I ordered tasted really lovely and the miso soup was good too, not too salty. However, I also ordered a Unagi don, and the eel was such a hassle to eat. There were so many bones in the eel that I had to pick them out one by one. It wasn't just the odd one or two, but I counted literally about 15 bones!



I didn't intend to complain and was going to carry on eating until the waitress noticed I wasn't too happy. I told her the situation and she apologised and told the kitchen staff the problem. I overheard the kitchen staff and the way they said it was "it's supposed to be like that, the eel bones are soft to eat." It wasn't even said in a nice attitude either. If it was really soft I would be eating them with no problem, but they were so sharp and hard it seems so inedible! I've never had this kind of experience with an Unagi don at any other restaurant and I'm highly disappointed.



I find myself to be a customer who doesn't complain even when I don't like the food, but after today I feel the need to do so due to what the kitchen staff had said and they I didn't even try or check my food themselves.



I give one star for the waitress's politeness and another star for the other food.
