A lovely riverside setting with caravan and camping. They have a small cafe (don't expect room inside to sit if weather bad) which offers a good range of food. Parking ok.

Excellent site, good price, plenty of room, superb new toilet block, helpful staff and fish N' chip van on Saturday night. We initially booked it because it is a short walk to the Nene valley railway station which it is.
What more can you wish for.
To the sad people who moaned about the building work, havn't they ever done any building work on their house, it has to be done sometime and when the weather is fine. When it is finished it will be superb.

Lovely site located in the beautiful Nene Valley, with some enjoyable riverside walks and good fishing. There are also a number of village pubs within walking distance.
I've stayed a few times now and on my latest visit I was glad to see that the shower block and toilets have been relocated and revamped. They are now close to the touring pitches which is ideal and the showers are powerful and warm 👍
Very helpful management and team that treated us well throughout our stay and a friendly little coffee shop.

Fantastically peaceful camp site, surrounded by the river Nene. Lovely lake and mill stream too.
The toilet block seems very new and is well appointed, individual showers, central heating and regularly cleaned.
Washing up facilities are standard camping fare.
The only thing that stops it becoming 5 stars is a lack of laundry and a shop selling everyday provisions and camping essentials. Although there is a Londis less than a mile away. But I suppose this is why the campsite is so quite. And the static and caravan pitches are fully booked 12 months of the year.
That said the Ladies run a friendly little cafe on site from 10-3 every day for drinks, snacks, jackets ect.
Lots of local pubs within a mile or 2 and for the urban experience Peterborough is only 20 mins away and was surprisingly nice! (sorry Peterborough!) And the Nene Valley Railway is less than half a mile walk from the site.
If you like a quiet campsite with walks, rivers, wide open spaces and fishing then this is for you.

Not recommended, it is more like a building site!! Dumpers, lorries and dust everywhere and still hammering away on Saturday mornings. Stay their at your own peril. You have been warned

I've been visiting this place for 40 years - usually for a 1 or 2 night stay several times a year. It was an ideal place to put the canoe in the water and spend an afternoon on the river. The policy to change the minimum night stay to 3 nights has put an end to that.

The location of this place is extremely nice, next to the river Nene which runs past it. Beautiful setting! Shame about the bigoted 50 something owner who rides around on a golf cart ballowing at people. He is the opitomy of some old men who think they should automatically get respect because they are older than you ( and I am a 33 year old mother of three, not an out of control 18 year old). When I challenged him on his approach with us he told me "I was out of order" to which I reminded him, that he was in fact the one "out of order" and if he speaks to people like that then he should expect the same back. All and all dealing with him sent my heart rate up signifanctly, certainly not a relaxing bike ride with my children that I had intended and spent the rest of the day trying to relax after the incident. In summary lovely setting but beware of the golf cart police!

Stayed for three nights, on arrival was met by an unfriendly woman. Got to our pitch to find decomposing dog dirt and also goose pooh. Dog bins overflowing, weren't emptied until late afternoon following day. No staff to be seen, just some guy riding around on a golf buggy doing nothing. Toilets disgusting, never cleaned, cob webs and spiders been there months. Such a shame because location was great for walks and pubs and friendly woman running cafe on site. Will definitely not be returning.

This site has all the makings of a really great place to visit. The location is fabulous, the views beautiful. There is a river running alongside that is a good place to either watch the wildlife or fish.
But it lacks cleanliness, signage and facilities.
The bins are almost constantly overflowing so bags get dumped alongside which can get quite 'ripe'. There is one bathroom block; which is not a huge problem. It has obviously been recently decorated. But for the whole time we were there it was not clean EVER. The window sills and floors were covered with dead flies, spiders, webs and dirt. And the same dirt is there the following days. (I know as I 'marked' several places to see if it would be cleaned) There are spiders and their webs EVERYWHERE!! In one bathroom cubicle alone I counted 20 of them. The washing up area was so full of webs that it was almost impossible to walk through the doorway without getting a face-full. Just a few minutes with a broom each day would make such a difference.
There are a lack of signs to direct you to the right area and some pitch numbers were missing. A printed map on arrival would help as the reception staff member must get hoarse from giving verbal directions... and such a waste of time when people are waiting to check in . I witnessed no end of people driving around in circles lost. With just a little effort and no great outlay this could be a gem of a place. but at the moment - it is definitely NOT.
