Organised a surprise cocktail making class for my friends birthday and it was absolutely fab! It's the second time I've been to Yates for this and I think it's the best in Hull, definitely would recommend to anyone that wanted to do something a bit different with friends!

Moved here from Canada a few months ago and this is my go to place for good music and dancing on a Saturday night.

DJ is amazing, very interactive with everyone. Service has been good, slow when busy but that is to be expected.

Will be returning often!

Food was good. Service was lovely. We had a 7month old with us and the staff unlocked toilets, I was suppressed that it had mats, nappies, wipes in boxes. A lovely welcoming touch, if needed. :-)

Went for tea with friends and to watch the football, ordered food and was on the table in ten minutes and very nice indeed.

Lovely food and service but the toilets smell and dirty and not always full with toilet paper think they should be checked and clean regular its a busy places needs doing more then twice daily sorry x

The menu could do with updating as there not a large selection for pasta dishes, vegetarian or salads....everything just seems to be burgers and hot dogs. The music can be too loud during day so you can't have a conversation.

Night time the music is good and selection of drinks are good too.

Our starter and drinks came quite quickly, but we were then left waiting over half hour for our main meal. We had to remind them... And still was left waiting... And it wasn't worth waiting for, instead of coming like it normally does in separate dishes to eat as you choose.... It was all slapped on a dinner plate... Looked very unappetising and the rice was cold. Will not be going back.

I gave it a 3 because as lovely as thd food was, the service could've been better. I was waiting at the bar to be served, 2 bar staff saw me and didnt even acknowledge i was there. 1 of them was already serving which is fair enough but the other one stood talking to his colleague for a couple of minutes before turning away from myself and some other people who were waiting and started serving at the other side of the bar. I witnessed at least 2 people go to that part of the bar and get served while i was still waiting. In the end i gave up, ate my food and left. Not impressed by the service. At all.

Had a meal with my partner as we had just got married, food was OK, had to wait to be served a drink even though, not many at bar, the toilets were unclean so was rather disappointed :(

Just had the philly steak sub - let’s just say the meat was pure grissle. More bread cake than filling and couldn’t taste any philly. Very poor value . Won’t be back anytime soon �

Food was just warm and not very nice the table was dirty and not been cleaned.one of our party had to ask for clean cutelry.will not be eating there again.

Come in to watch the football n have some dinner got the 5 for £15.95 to share it come out pretty quick but was cold in the middle sent it back and one of the 5 items was not available so had to double up with some thing else one of our items come out when we had neally finished they was bacon twisters and was cremated and full of fat this pubs ok for a few drinks but foods nothing special wont be having food in here again really put me off although the young lad who was serving tables was very polite and tried to do his best to make sure we was happy but 1 person serving food in the whole pub was a bit unfair he was rushed of his feet, not 2 mention the 2 pints of Stella we had to take back as it stank but shit happens

Burger was cold and one of the members of staff just stood by the doorway nearly making me jump and demanded my sister to give id and didn't ask nicely for it.

Been coming in here for the past 15 years or more but since it’s been Yates it’s gone right downhill. Sticky tables, badly maintained beer and an overall lack of customer service. Nothing to recommend it really so today will be the last time we visit. Shame cos it’s where I met my hubby!!

Went in yesterday tea time for a drink with my mum and got shouted at by the manager with a very bad attitude . I asked for the manager and got shouted back at to say she was it !!! Very bad customer service .oh and was also told that I wouldn't be served again either!!

Went in on sunday for a bite to eat..ordered a jacket potato told there was no tuna mayo so had it with cheese, came a few mins later to find that the jacket potato was half cooked & cold and the cheese was like rubber. Deffo wont be eating in there again.

We were in Hull xmas shopping today, and decided to call in for some lunch. I certainly wished we hadn't have bothered. The only saving grace about our visit were the friendly bar staff, waiter, and helpful manageress. The food was DEFINATELY A let down. We ordered at the bar. Got our drinks and sat waiting for our food to arrive. When it did arrive. One dish came out first. A good 5 mins later the other 3 dishes arrived. Pasta dish was tasty, as was my cheese pie. The breakfast pie came out as breakfast and chips. When this was queried. It got taken away. With the promise of the required dish been brought back. Everyone else had eaten. Then finally the missing meal turned up, minus the chips that had been ordered. By this time said receiver of this dish said he would just eat the pie. As he tried to cut/hack into the pastry. He discovered the pie crust was burnt. Not just slightly overdone. More erring on the side of really very teeth breaking well done. I did go and speak to the manageress. We were given our money back with no quibbles. To be fair the staff were lovely. Was I impressed by the food, timings , quality of food and value for money. Quite frankly no. Really dissapointed.

Me and 4 friends just popped in for a quick drink to pass the time before cinema and we were met by and an extremely drunk individual being kicked out (or at least they were trying as he just waltzed back in instantly) but we decided to soldier on as we definitely wanted to use our sweet sweet discount, well, if we weren't ignored we would have, stood at the bar for a 10 minutes as one employee served literally everyone else, and if we'd stayed any longer, probably every future customer before us...

I am not one to complain but the one star is being generous. I left Yates has we waited for 15 mins at the bar. I can understand if it was busy but it just wasn’t. Staff had there heads down to avoid acknowledging we were there. Then the last straw was a gentlemen pushed in front of us and got served before us. I have never left a bar before and usually a patient person but this tested my limits.
