A pleasure to have hosted Miss Newark, @amydiamondxo Doggy Pageant yesterday in aid of two charities. Thank you to everyone that came and to Amy for organising a great fundraising day. 🐶🐾 @ Ye Olde Bridge Oxton
This Sunday... come and support two amazing charities 😁
We recently held a family event on a sunny afternoon and what a wonderful location for approx. 60+ people. Everyone appeared happy with the food and the hosts were excellent with their attention to detail ensuring that all our needs were catered for and met. They really couldn’t do enough to ensure that our event went smoothly, thank you
We met family at the bridge yesterday afternoon for dinner, There were Four adults and Four children in our party. All of the staff were very friendly and The food was amazing! We were greeted by the new owners, who have filled the restaurant with a warm, family atmosphere! We can not rate this restaurant enough and we will be returning soon
Thank you so much for your kind hospitality yesterday... letting us bring the cubs and scouts to watch the England game. Lovely place and lovely people. Very much appreciated
Sunday Carvery lunch is the best we have had in a long time . Service was swift and friendly . Even in the midst of the England game and very busy . Kept us informed about the score. Lady I charge ? Landlady run a very organised service . We will be back .! Thanks
Staff are attentive without being intrusive
Great food
Would definitely recommend and will visiting again
Really enjoyed our meal tonight thank you so much! We were lucky enough to win a meal so only had to pay for drinks and our daughters food but the staff were just as attentive as they would have been if we were paying in full. Fab food and lovely atmosphere xx
Lovely atmosphere -very friendly -amazing food -I hadThai curry my wife the pulled pork burger ,both delicious , good pint of real ale
We would definitely recommend and will certainly be back
Well done to the new owners
Loved this pub before the new owner took over & now I love it even more! So friendly, came to introduce herself when we arrived. Food was as perfect as ever & so happy to hear they’re extending the gluten free menu. We live almost an hour away but never think twice about jumping in the car & driving over. See you again very soon
Just wanted to thank all of the staff as I brought my family to have a meal on 17th Jan 2017 for my Dad's birthday and couldn't have been happier. We were given a warm welcome as soon as we entered and reassured that we wouldn't be waiting long to be offered a drink and be seated.
It had a gorgeous warm rustic cottage sort of vibe, myself and my sister had never been before and it was a very relaxed and immersive environment.
Once seated we all decided on what to have and my oh my the food was stunning. Steaks cooked to absolute perfection juicy through and through and everything was so flavoursome it's unreal how beautiful it all was for extremely reasonable prices.
Thank you all again for making my dad's birthday special and for a memorable experience. I will definitely be coming back soon. Couldn't praise it enough!
This is a really beautiful pub both inside and the outside grounds and staff are very friendly. It has a pretty big seating capacity but not the capacity to cope with the demand this presents, leading to queues for the bar and long waits for food.
I would not come back here to eat as the food was not great. I found a bone in my pulled chicken burger and the extra mayo I asked for came out recycled from a previous user as it was congealed around the top of the pot. My daughters pizza was soggy and my husbands steak was very average.
I would've raised this with someone but the bar area was chocca and no one came to see if everything was ok or clear our plates away.
Although it has a gorgeous interior it all feels a bit unkept with empty glasses everywhere and no one cleared our table when we'd finished eating.
The toilets were also lovely but not immaculate. The toilet was actually wobbly from the floor and the seat was hanging off in the other cubicle. Then I could take my pick from the toilet rolls scattered in the cubicle.
Maybe this was an unexpectedly busy night or the hoover had broken but we won't be rushing back unfortunately.
My daughter and I popped in for lunch after visiting a garden centre, the young man that greeted us was friendly and helpful showing us to a table, and bringing our drinks.
The meal was well presented and my steak was cooked perfectly just how I asked, although my daughters burger was dry.
The chunky chips were probably in our view a little too chunky and seemed soggy and greasy. My daughters brioche was burnt but she did manage to find enough of it to eat. The price if the meal was in my opinion good, and I might go back one more time to sample the main meal menu and not have chunky chips.
I’m sorry to say,but it was our first time on mother’s day yesterday,we had quite a bad experience. First we had booked a table for 3pm and finally got it at 4.15,then took around 20mins to take our order, then eventually ate at 5pm,this was after a punch up in the bar area which left me quite disturbed! Anyway the meal was lovely and will be trying it again when it’s quieter
The food was lovely amazing the homemade chips and steak sauce.
What let the place down was 20mins to be served a drink and over an hour for the staters followed by 40mins of staring at empty plates, had to ask someone to clear it, then a further 15mins for mains. Gave up with puddings.
Seriously lacking in staff and service at the tables was very poor.
A real same when the food was so nice it let the place down.
Had a Sunday carvery here with the family. For the price it was fairly disappointing in my opinion, very little choice, and Yorkshire puddings were rock solid. Pleasant environment though and helpful staff. I just feel the carvery needs a little more imagination.
From previous experience I love the food at this place but today we waited well over an hour for some pizzas that didn't materialise. Very disappointed. Got a refund but no genuine apology.
We have just been to the Olde Bridge Inn, we have waited an hour and a half and they still refused to take our food order, just kept saying, "Can you wait 10 more minutes, there's a problem in the kitchen!" They also added that once the food was ordered it would be another 45minutes wait. We explained how long we had waited and the gentleman behind the bar said, ok maybe next time ... No apology!
It was quicker to drive home from Oxford to Nottingham than eat here!
Please take this advice,if you have a problem be honest with your customers, let them decide if it's worth waiting not just hanging on, wasted time, money and we're still hungry!
The said gentleman can't pour a pint either, flat as the beer mat.
Was a little disappointed with our meal yesterday. Decided to treat my sister as we never do anything together with work commitments. So We ordered what said to be a homemade chicken tikka curry in the menu. To be brought a Thai green curry!!! I was a little dissapointed with being 6 months pregnant. But I didn't complain just thought try enjoy... until..... there was a BLACK hair in my curry. So I went to the bar had to take my food to the till. I just didn't think the service was good enough. Ruined my day
Terrible service and rude staff, had a large group booked in for 7pm was told many things on the menu were not available. Waited over a hour for just pizzas and sausage and mash, when asking how long it was going to be we were rudely ignored and simply told they didn't know how much longer it was going to be. We left with no apologies from any staff! Highly disappointed as we were regular visitors and had recommended it to our friends we were with! Will not be returning! So disappointed!
I would’ve liked to have reviewed the food but I didn’t get that far.
In fact, I didn’t even get served a drink.
The servers were incompetent and really quite ignorant.
I was asked if I’d be dining and as soon as I said I intended to I was rushed away from the empty bar having been told that a server would take my drinks order at the table.
The table I chose was in clear view of the bar and the barmaid made no mention that I’d been seated to the waitresses.
I can’t tell you about the service I received from them because I walked out after a fifteen minute wait just for a drink but I noticed the poor service from who I assumed was the manager at another table as she brought the wrong condiment and lectured the customers about the measurement of their cola.
“We don’t serve it in pints- whoever served it you shouldn’t have done that.”
Ridiculous.
I might add that the place wasn’t even busy- the problem quite simply was poor management and a complete lack of interest in customer service.
AVOID.
