We stayed 3 nights in the Pindale room during twixmas. Lovely clean room with view of Peveril Castle. Lovely shower room. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast. Nice country inn with character. Excellent food. Fully recommend.

User

We popped in after a walk round mam tor with the dog. We both had main courses, I had lasnage and my partner had the meat pie, both was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is so cosy I love it every time we come here and itโ€™s even better that they allow dogs because that means we can always bring him along. Will definitely be returning! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Turned up without a booking yesterday, 4 adults and 1 boxer dog..the food was fabulous, huge portions too.

I can recommend the The Big Boy Burger (was huge) and the Steak, Ale & Potato Pie, the vegetables were so fresh, all was very reasonable priced.

We will be back soon, thank you for the fabulous meal

This is a lovely pub. With a great restaurant. Great selection of food. Sunday dinner is gorgeous. They do lite bite meals too. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. Great selection of beers, spirits and wines.

User

The best pub food we have eaten in a long time we ordered Jumbo fish and chips the fish was the size of a whale, as well as steak and ale pie both dishes were an absolute treat, the hardworking staff made you feel at home such a lovely experience

Popped in sunday after a walk with the dog, was very busy but a very helpful young girl sorted a table for us, food was great bangers and mash in a Yorkshire pudding was spot on. Will definitely be the first choice for food when we return to castleton, maybe even stop over in the hotel prices looked very reasonable.

User

Lovely welcoming staff nothing is any trouble roaring fires good choice at breakfast and plenty of it, our room was comfy and cosy very pleasant stay and will defiantly be visiting again.

User

Lovely traditional pub and although we couldnโ€™t stay to eat, the food being served around us looked wonderful. Cosy comfortable sofa in front of a real fire with a few flakes of snow beginning to fall outside, and a very tasty mulled wine - perfect way to end our day before the journey home.

If you're in Castleton, I would strongly advise a visit. The menu was very British with modern twists. Black pudding mash with pork belly draft special was lovely, but a large portion. My son had a southern froed chicken burger which he said was the best burger he ever had (quite something from an 8 year old who only ever orders burgers!) My 11 year old daughter had a pizza, worth sharing rather than one each I would suggest. The surroundings were warm, welcoming and comfortable, plus I must spread the word about the floral delight in the ladies toilets (read the notelet when you visit). We will probably go again if we are in Castleton!

Drove over to Castleton today (16th Feb 2018) to finally celebrate Wedding Anniversary and Valentines and dined at the Old Nags Head for the very first time . Lovely ambiance, great choice of drinks, wonderful food, and DOG FRIENDLY, though we didn't have our dogs with us this time.

User

Dog friendly ..... great food ..... toasty warm open fire ..... fabulous beers ...... brilliant staff ...... perfect !

Been quite a few times now and itโ€™s always fantastic. I canโ€™t think of anywhere else which is as good value for money. ยฃ10.95 for a fabulous Sunday lunch including soup to start is amazing. Keep up the good work guys. Lovely staff too.

User

User

Amazing place best pub in castleton .staff are great and we had a good laugh with them all see you very soon

User

The food was excellent, but my only down fall was when we tried to sit down one of the waiters was quite abrupt and didn't try to help us, BUT we were quite reassured when a young lady came to our rescue and offered us a spare chair, we were very grateful for your kindness and hospitality all stars go to you xx

User

We popped in wanting a cup of tea, so having looked at the menu decided that the cream tea looked very tempting at ยฃ3.95 per head. The food and drink arrived fairly quickly, we each got a scone,( which was more akin to a small crumpet with dried fruit ) , butter, a small pot of jam each and mass helpings of cream. The pot of tea was delicious, the "scone" however wasn't great. Proper scones would be much better to be honest.

The place itself, very nice with friendly attentive staff. The food menu overall offered a decent selection at reasonable prices.

User

Visited & stayed here a few times always been pleased but not this time. Took me 3 attempts to book the room as the girl on the phone said it was too busy to take my booking! 3rd time i called same girl answered said same again until i said it was my 3rd call she reluctantly rushed through by booking. Never stayed in the rivelin room before it is so small & compact u feel so claustraphobic in there. Very disapointing experience ๏ฟฝ
