What a wonderful review about Radfest... Makes all the hard work worth while What a wonderful weekend of sunshine, music and dancing! Friday night’s bands were great but they were surpassed by Saturday evening. The Casual Ties were a brilliant crowd pleaser, as ever and got the place rocking and dancing. They were followed by The Blind Lemon Blues band who seemed to make the ground shake. Everyone was dancing, fuelled by…enthusiasm! We didn’t want it to end. By Sunday, ...we were a touch jaded but the atmosphere remained fabulous. The street food tents satisfied our appetites. The wood fired pizza was our favourite. We were told that the chilli was delicious too. Service was fast, efficient and the prices fair. We really hope that you keep this style of food all summer.
Remarkably, the outside toilets remained usable and clean throughout Saturday night. Loo paper was still there; how many festivals can say that?
This was a great FREE festival. The camp site was full and the price to camp for three nights a bargain.
We wish that you had sold festival T shirts: we would have bought them! (To be honest, by the end of Saturday evening, I would have bought anything). We cannot imagine the time spent organising this event, but it came across as effortless. A real winner! One of our best weekends this summer so far. We seem to say this every Monday after a weekend at The Swan.

You are awesome. We just moved our boat to your mooring. It had been freezing and we were so cold...and hungry. We were going to share a single piece of cake until Summer took us under her wing and gave us chips. I cannot say how welcome your kindness was.

Looking forward to mooring here.

We had an amazing time in the teepees for my mum's birthday, ate and drank to our hearts desire in this glorious pub and it's grounds. Swam in the river and BBQ'd in wonderful sunshine. Staff so friendly and welcoming. We will be sure to head down from York again and visit you with the potatoes on legs x Thanks for making it a great memorable stay.

User

Was there yesterday for a birthday meal with my family. Food was fantastic, staff so friendly and attentive and thank you for my free birthday shot. Lovely evening and a lovely pub x

User

Traveled up from Bristol today and wow the Sunday dinner was out of this world all home made.. and perfectly cooked.. looking forward to going back

Taken on a 'surprise' visit to Radfest 2017 by a friend we had a wonderful time. Situated by the river it was a real treat to watch canal boats disappear under the nearby bridge (we live on the Isle of Wight....no canal boats and certainly no bridges as picturesque as the one near the pub).......The festival was such a friendly affair with good food, much good music to entertain us and the choice of some magnificent beers (of which I had a few pints !). The 'icing on the cake' was to have been invited to 'play' (fiddle) with Lefty and his Jam Tarts. Had a wonderful time, although I did make myself unpopular by 'wasting' a beer chit on a J20 (Apologies Lefty !) Lovely pub and hope to return one day.

User

Radfest 2017... Fab music, fab food, fab people, and brilliantly organised. The management and staff all worked hard to pull off this great day. This pub just gets better and better 😃

User

I went there last night with my wife and the food was lovely, i really enjoyed it and so did she the triple cooked chips are to die for.

Really pleased with the customer service too, really nice and polite and very accommodating

User

Have been avoiding this place like the plague after a visit under thr previous tenants, heard it was under new management and thought I'll give it a go,wow what a nice surprise refurb not yet finished but looking good, food excellent service excellent, will be back soon, well done ye old swan.

User

Been to this pub twice now once before my son was born and again today. Staff are incredibly friendly, beautiful place the location is just stunning. They had this wonderful cider "stinger" 7.5% went down very well. Food there was amazing well worth the price taste wise it was honestly one of the best meals I've ever had.

Thank you to all the staff there for an amazing evening. Couldn't praise you and your pub enough.

Always a friendly warm welcome at Yee Old Swan. Quick and welcoming service at the bar and the garden area has come on leaps and bounds over the last few months. There's now a covered BBQ area which serves gourmet burgers and a multitude of fresh salads along with extra's to add to your burger which is competitively priced at sub-ten pounds and cooked to my liking at least medium rare although you can choose more well done if you require. There is new decking and all the benches and tables have neon replaced with high end quality replacements. It appears that nothing is too much trouble for the staff and owner of Ye Old Swan and given its location which for most requires a drive or lift is quite obviously reaping the rewards of its growing popularity as the car park is seldom empty. Definitely the new place to be. Pubs in the area need to take note and up their game as there is a new player in town and he's taking no prisoners. Ignore at your peril..!

User

Recently sold into private ownership, this pub/restaurant has had an amazing renovation. It's looking stunning inside, comfortable and good atmosphere. Recently started serving food - just had a carvery lunch - menu a bit basic but early days yet! OH says the beer (Forge Brewery - local) is very good...

User

I think the pub is beautiful and lovely outside. I would have given 5 stars but found it difficult using a knife and fork made out of cardboard. I had the beef roast. It was lovely. Especially the Yorkshire pudding. I was told if you eat outside, you can't use proper cutlery and my knife broke again and again. When the sun is shining and you would love to sit near the Thames, this is a lovely pub garden.

User

Great pub with a good selection of real ales , ciders and lagers, my big gripe is your BBQ food prices which are an absolute rip off, small portions and poor quality, drop your prices or up your portions and quality. On a positive i still love this revamped pub and was at Radfest yesterday absolutely brilliant music festival, friendly great fun and good bands, just sort your food out as looking at the reviews and talking to other people i aint the only one moaning.

User

Great place super busy as a bank holiday and the temp in the low 30's. Expected to gave wait for food! Two of us ordered burgers from BBQ bang on time, sadly we think they lost the ladies order of ploughmans share platter as had to ask twice and waited almost an hour after been told 20-35 minute wait. Apart from that would go again

User

would have been a higher score on a different day, truly lovely place to visit on a hot summer's day - as I'm in the trade and know how hard it is to find staff to work especially on a Bank Holiday - the wait time and queuing for drinks was unfortunate as detracted a little away from the experience. I would not judge it on this one visit and to be fair I know all the staff were working their " ass's" off and i did feel for them. I think it has lots of character and a lovely pub might have been 5 stars on another day

User

Very good selection of drinks. Nice outside bar. Also had a outside BBQ which I did think was very expensive. Burger was £4.95 and hotdog £4.00 and with salad and chips burgers were £9.50. I felt the baguettes and sandwiches where priced fair but not a great selection. Would of liked some sort of chicken. Like tikka or chicken mayo. But on a hole lovely place.

User

Good beer, but the food was served on a chopping board. I don't get that, just give me a blooming plate. All this in vogue, pretentious holihoks is all off putting. It was only bloomin burgers and chips.

Food was ok, but needs more seasoning in the burgers. Very plain.

Nice ambience, but still prefer the old Swan from yonder years. Hearty food and drink then.

Shame the backwaters are off limits to all anglers, used to go there every w/end in the winter, then pop in for food and drinks. Thinks the Swan is missing some much needed winter trade there.

Will return as usual, but will ask for a plate next time.

Cheers all, SM

Went in today for a simple Ploughmans asvertised with fresh Bread. Ended up with a plate of prepacked cooked meats, pack salad with half a cumcumber slice and a burger bun. Very bland and not enjoyable at all. To sum it up, great building with some well kept gardens, phenominal location but let down by shortcuts in the kitchen.

User

Service was very slow at the bar to get a drink. Eventually we got that and asked about food as there was a BBQ outside. We were told they were doing food alongside the BBQ so we took menus found a table chose what we wanted went back in to order then to be told no longer doing food as it was too busy!!!! Ok so we ordered from the BBQ £20 for a burger chips & salad & pulled pork roll with a few chips & a bit of salad. Not great won't be going back
