I couldn't fault a thing. Everybody commented on what a fantastic venue it was, the day was perfect.

Original review: We went along for Sunday lunch yesterday and also to show our parents our wedding venue for next year, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic, we were made to feel so welcome, I highly recommend going there for Sunday lunch.

We held our wedding reception at Yew Lodge and were blessed with a beautiful sunny day so we were able to make use of the stunning grounds for our photos. Our guests enjoyed sipping prosecco outside, whilst enjoying canapés which were delicious. Our wedding breakfast was also delicious and all of our guests enjoyed their meal...even the most fussy eaters. The evening continued till midnight where a lot of our guests were still dancing and could have kept going, it was such a brilliant party atmosphere! Peter, Pauline and Nick were meticulous in their planning and ensured that our day went exactly how we wanted it, checking everything was going well on the day, and accommodating all our requests in the planning, we cannot thank them enough. We can highly recommend Yew Lodge for a wedding celebration. We will definitely be back for a Sunday Lunch to celebrate our anniversary!

My wife Laura and i got married at Yew lodge at the beginning of June and i have to say everything was absolutely perfect! As the last reviewer said they allow you to do things your own way unless you ask and then they are more than happy to help which we loved! And all the guests commented how lovely and relaxed everything was. Pauline, Peter and Nick were great and i found Peters sense of humour hilarious! We had numerous comments about how nice the food was (especially the sauce accompanying the chicken) And we had some fantastic photos in the grounds with beautiful flowers of different colours as a backdrop. Fantastic day and Nick and the staff were excellent dealing with the huge amount of drinks being ordered by our guests at the bar They also arranged some beer and wine for our guests that wanted to stay up talking in the lodge past bar closure which was a nice touch.

My daughter had her wedding at Yew Lodge, in December, and I have to say it was WONDERFUL!! Peter and his wife were involved in the whole day, and it ran like clockwork. Just enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at Yew Lodge to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We were celebrating our wedding reception their this time last year! Wonderful venue & gardens!

If you've seen this venue it says it all. We hired it for our wedding last Friday. We had both the ceremony and reception here. The fact the venue is exclusive to your wedding party is amazing as we felt our guests relaxed into it.

Pauline, Nick and Peter were so helpful. The communications either by phone or email was easy to achieve. The bridal party all got ready at the venue prior to the ceremony which was really helpful.

Both the house and grounds are well maintained and simply stunning. We loved it from the first moment we saw it. All our wedding party commented on the venue itself. The food is fresh and well presented. All the food was eaten and keenly by our wedding party. The waitress staff were so attentive.





You need to decorate the venue yourself but this is nice as you can personalise it. They don't dictate how you decorate. They can also set the lights in the reception room to match your colour scheme!



There is ample parking and although there is a main road by the venue the house is set back from the road so you do not hear this.



They also have some fantastic wildlife :)

I wanted to take time out to write a review as after booking my wedding at yew lodge, I found myself searching for reviews and came across a few negative ones and I started to panic, a lot based on the staff not being very helpful or involved in planning not answering emails etc... What I want to make clear is that from the very start Peter, Pauline and Nick, made it very clear to me and my husband on how much they get involved in the 'wedding planning' side of things and I knew pretty much from day one I had to do everything myself, apart from the cooking lol, which I what I liked, meant I could put my stamp on every little detail. My emails were always answered and if it was anything urgent I would just call and got a response instantly. If you want a wedding where the venue does it all for you so you can sit back and relax then it's simple don't pick yew lodge. If you want to get your 'hands dirty' at a beautiful venue then do. Peter Pauline and Nick were amazing, the day couldn't have gone any more perfect, and it went exactly how I wanted it to, they was all around to answer any question or sort out any minor detail without any fuss. The venue is out of this world and I'm so glad the sun finally popped up so me my family and friends got to take full advantage of the grounds and capture those 'perfect photos'. The waitresses even had a cheeky photo in the photo booth I hired which really made me giggle and happy they the enjoyed themselves also. 4 weeks ago Geoff and my self had a wonderfull day to celebrate our ruby wedding and Geoff`s 70th birthday.Thank you to Peter, Pauline and all the staff for making our day very special in this wonderfull venue and lovely gardens.Big thanks to the chef for the excellent food.Molly & Geoff

Beautiful old house, excellent food. Staff never smiled. Cleared away glasses before we had finished with them. Making us feel like they wanted to get rid of us as quickly as possible. Shame! Would have loved to have given 5☆

The venue itself is beautiful, the grounds are stunning, what let's this place down are it's owners, after being called a liar, after not having all my hopes and dreams of my wedding fulfilled by the venue, after one of my guests having to run the water in the rooms for the best part of three hours because it was orange, after not having our full quota of drinks supplied with our very poor wedding breakfast we were then insulted when we wrote to them after our wedding to highlight our concerns. I would strongly advise any prospective couples to not book their wedding here based on looks alone!! Communication was poor, the rooms are dated, the owners are plain rude!!! I regret booking my wedding here.

I would echo my wife's review (Leanne Moore) I would also add that most of the reviews below do not seem to be for a wedding but for events. This is a completely different kettle of fish especially when your wedding requires so much more planning and detail yet the support was not always there from this venue and when they did finally reply to our countless emails there was always an issue with our requests. On the day they we had issues as well with orange water due to boiler work that had been recently done. The venue then tried telling us it wasn't their fault the water was orange and when asked why the system wasn't flushed out before our big day they explained they weren't a hotel and that the rooms weren't used or a regular basis so they weren't aware. So no attention to detail there, then our wedding breakfast described wasn't delivered the starter stated potted shrimp and we got prawns in partially melted butter in a ramekin. Great start to out wedding breakfast. We later realise the wine for each table that we had paid for wasn't put out. I don't want people getting the wrong impression of this venue the views and surroundings are fabulous the reception room and ceremony room are lovely as well but the attention to detail and the general service, communication, and empathy shown by the owners are what I would have expected if I had booked my wedding at a travel lodge. The saving grace of the staff had to be Pauline but unfortunately even her efforts couldn't overcome what we had already been through.
