Sorry it's taken me so long to post - BT cut us off early and couldn't get my dongle to work! Thanks to everyone for such a wonderful send off, and for all your kind words and good wishes, not to mention cards and prezzies. What a weekend! We are now officially retired and currently sitting in a field in Suffolk waiting for instruction in how to hitch up and drive this ginormous fifth wheel. If you are interested in how we get on and where we go then go over to my facebook page at Pauline Martin for updates. As for the Yew Tree, Simon and Edith took over on Tuesday but did not say when they would open, other than the managers are moving in on Friday so probably then. Bestwishes to you all, as they say on Loony Tunes - That's All Folks! Pauline

And here he is, Paul the singing chef!

What a great night! And we've got to do it all over again today. Thanks to everyone who gave us such a good time. Surprise of the night was chef Paul with his Elvis impersonation - why did we never know we had a singing chef. What a selling point that would have been!

Our last Saturday - Open Mic tonight, hope to see some old and new friends there. Then Sunday will be our last jam and I'm sure it's going to be a good one. So far we have had no indication from Simon and Edith (who will be taking over the Yew Tree on Tuesday) whether they will carry on with the jam sessions - only one way to find out jammers! Hopefully I'll be able to post some news on their plans on change over day, Tuesday. Meanwhile let's have a great weekend!

Thanks to Paul, Steve, Nigel and Zak for the impromptu session last night. Hope today's music in the park goes well and hopefully see you all later. Don't forget today is the penultimate jam!

Will all those who want to see the list please email me at theyewtree@btinternet.com and I'll send it as a reply.

Busy packing, clearing and sorting as (for those who don't know) it's only 11 days until we disappear off to the blue yonder. Lots of stuff for sale, including plenty for musos - amps, speakers, pedals, instruments. Ask for a list. Anyone want a box of china and/or glass? Penultimate jam session on Sunday, then the following weekend we hope to go out with a bang with an Open Mic on Saturday and the final jam on Sunday. Busy busy!

Hope all you jammers at the Village Pump are having a great time and didn't get rained off last night. Lovely bright and breezy day here - looking forward to our jam this afternoon.

We raised £312 over the weekend for Jordan's Camp International expedition to Tanzania next year with Kingdown School! Thanks for being so generous.

Thanks to all those who supported our Fun Day. There was so much else on today and it was soooo hot in the garden that we were pleased so many managed to make it. Come and enjoy our Charity Fun Day Disco with DJ Richy Rich this evening and then we will have a count up and let you know how much was collected for Camp International/Kingdown School trip to Tanzania to support poor communities.

Hope this wonderful weather is set fair for our Fun Day tomorrow. Starts at 2pm with stalls, games, a barbecue, plus you can have glitter tattoos and feathers in your hair! The fun goes on to 4pm and then we have a disco in the evening run by DJ Richy Rich who did such a great job last time we had our fun weekend. You can see the photographs below of his fantastic laser show. Anyone who would like to make a donation to the tombola can we have them by midday tomorrow please. And its all in aid of the Kingdown School/Camp International trip to Tanzania next year.
