Yha Borrowdale

Wonderful stay at a very well run and welcoming youth hostel. It has certainly changed my view on what youth hostels are like!

Well placed for the hills, I have used it many times. Never disappointed!

We've been several times now - we love it excellent, all round � only thing that stops us coming more is the fact we have to go to work !! See you again next time we are off x

Very friendly and welcoming. Good food and location

This hostel is in a beautiful location in the Lake District along Wainwright's Coast to Coast Way. I met some amazing fell walkers and other tourists during my stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Local buses provide frequent service around the Lake District. I do recommend it.

Stayed recently with my two boys and had the most wonderful time. As a single woman traveling with two young children the fab camping pod we had managed to get at the last minute was all the fun of camping without the extra work of putting up a tent myself. My boys loved it. It was cosy and definitely more glamping and camping. The YHA staff couldn't have been more helpful, squeezing us in for an extra night as we didn't want to leave. Beautiful location too. Thank you!

Sadly Just here for two nights but we've loved it. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Clean warm rooms and the best smelling dry room I've ever been in � Thank you. X

My first visit to Borrowdale and it won't be my last. It's relatively easy to get to from Crewe by Public Transport and that was one the reasons for visiting Borrowdale. The staff were friendly, informative and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. The Hostel is kept very clean & tidy in all areas. The wet room was a bonus when I could sit in the shower, and rest my dodgy knees, after all day walking the fells. The packed lunches are really tasty, filling & healthy and are also great value for money; as are the evening meals. I didn't have a full breakfast so cannot comment but I didn't hear anyone complaining.

Just had a couple of days in this lovely YH, very welcoming staff, great feel to the hostel. We will certainly be back for another stay.

Just back from three nights with new pooch staying in the pods.. Wonderful that YHA members can take their dogs now and have the best of the hostel atmosphere and the benefit of the brilliant pods. More of the same please YHA. Top staff at Borrowdale too - but keep it to yourself - let's not let out the best kept secret in the YHA! Brilliant - we will be back.

I have stayed here at least ten times with and without my boys, the place is pure bliss surrounded by mountains and river.

Had 3 nights here and it was fab. Great location, friendly staff, lovely food and great roaring fire in the bar!! Great to meet fellow walkers and swap stories x

Clean, wonderful atmosphere, good food, warm, everything first class.

Beautiful surroundings. Climbed scafell pike just from a little drive to Seathwaite. Orla on reception is pretty cool and very helpful. Beds are like the comfiest ever!!! Cant fault this place. Didn't use the bar or eat meals here just because I took my own munchies....it looked appetising though! Cosy fire in the car....friendly staff...friendly fellow hostel goers....5 star!

Another fab stay here. Would recommend the pods and stayed in them once for girlie walking hol (Scafell Pike) and just recently with my two boys. Worked perfectly for both and my boys didn't want to leave. Boys loved the stream, games room, breakfasts and climbing castle crag.

Great friendly staff and a great little place to stay! Only problem is it's a little out of the way from shops etc, but that's a good thing at the same time!
