The bed are very comfy and the staff are very friendly. The food is Very nice but the service is terrible unless you have Vodafone

Great place to start from to climb Helvellyn, striding edge, squirrel edge etc etc. Clean, remote, standard YHA facilities. Go explore.

Really good for a hostel. Friendly staff and good breakfast food. Quite a long walk from any shops, but good views out the windows.

Beautiful setting for a youth hostel although to it may kill your car. We had a window in our room faxing the Beck and it was so nice to look at. Very loud in the social rooms so I spent most time in my family room.

Went camping the previous day and climbed Helvellyn. Popped in here for some much needed refreshments afterwords. Fast table service especially considering time of day and generous portion sizes.

High up in the from Glenridding, great starting point for Helvellyn. The road to the hostel is rough, but worth the journey. Mind your car as you travel!
