YHA Langdon Beck is a small, rural hostel located in the heart of Upper Teesdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in County Durham and stands at 385 meters above sea level. The hostel was purpose built in 1965 after fire destroyed the original building in 1963. This hostel provides accommodation to a variety of people including walkers, cyclists, canoeists, bird watchers, flower spotters, school and youth groups, and families.
We are quarter of a mile from the Pennine Way, just past the half way point (travelling south the north). We have 33 beds split across eight bedrooms, all of which have views overlooking the hills of the North Pennines.

Superb hostel with stunning views
My husband and I had never stayed at a YHA until Langdon Beck. Laura was a fantastic hostess and takes care of the YHA and its guests like it's her home. You'd be lucky to stay here.
Excellent place, wonderfully run by a crew who are friendly, pleasant, and committed to making every effort to ensure you have a great stay. Can't recommend it enough!
