About Yha Okehampton

YHA Okehampton is a YHA Youth Hostel on the edge of Dartmoor (SW England) offering 3* Activity Accommodation for members and non-members.

Yha Okehampton Description

Events, happenings and information that will be useful about staying at YHA Okehampton. This old Victorian railway goods shed set on the edge of Dartmoor has been converted to a modern hostel offering accommodation for individuals, families and groups. Great centre for exploring the wilds of Dartmoor or stopping off on the National Cycle route.

Our licensed restaurant serves locally sourced food, beers and Devon cider throughout the high season and we have self catering kitchen open all year. During School Holidays the Granite Way Cafe is open to visitors between 9 and 4pm.

Cyclists doing the Coast to Coast, we advise you to prebook meals, especially if you're likely to arrive late.

Sometimes the entire hostel and campsite maybe fully booked, check availability on our websites (www. adventureokehampton.com or through www. yha.org. uk) or call the hostel to check before you arrive.

Our new buses signpainted at Bonehill Rocks, where we were filming with Griff Rhys Jones for his new series, where one episode will be about Dartmoor. Will they talk about hairy hands, hounds, as well as granite tramways and weaselling? Well we will let you know when the progamme will be on so you can tune in!

Busy week with the school groups, with one school that has now been coming since we opened in 1997! Gareth and the catering team are preparing lots of meals, and at end of week we need to get ready for the busy Bank Holiday weekend. There's a lot of laundry for the house-keeping team to do on Friday! But we've still a few rooms available on Friday Night
