It's been a super Summer at YHA Perranporth! The surf forecast and weather are looking promising for the coming days/week and we have plenty of availability throughout September.
A collection of images from this season
Some beautiful Celtic beach art and fantastic surf conditions today! YHA Perranporth’s investment works are progressing really well. There are just a few more weeks to go before we re-open for the season!
The snow eventually arrived in Perranporth late this afternoon, allowing locals and families to have fun exploring the snowy footpaths and slide down the slippery slopes!
It’s a crisp and sunny morning, with a small clean wave... if anyone’s brave enough! Air temperature -1°C😬 sea temperature 8°😄
The South-Easterly wind has been rather chilly today, but it sounds like it’s going to get even colder!
The mist has been lingering over Perranporth for the past couple of days making the place feel very atmospheric, however there’s blue sky on the horizon. Our refurbishment is now under way, so thank you for everyone’s help and continuing support! Today I met with a local artist who’s going to help us brighten up one of the walls in the lounge, which is very exciting.
Did you feel the earth move?!
It’s snowing ❄️ in Perranporth this morning and settling on the sand dunes!
Our small and spectacularly-situated Cornish hostel is in need of some serious TLC. Help us bring the interior up to scratch and create an unforgettable sanctuary by the sea. Support YHA Perranporth.

If you’re ever in St Ives we would certainly recommend a climb up to St Nicholas Chapel https://www.stives-cornwall.co.uk/st-nich olas-chapel/ overlooking Porthmeor Beach, the views are amazing!
There are some lovely mellow waves at Porthmeor this evening!
It’s a perfect day for wave watching, while we eagerly await the start of YHA Perranporth’s major refurbishment. We’ll keep you updated as it progresses and hopefully give you a few sneak previews!
The recent storms have uncovered lots of the old cables below the hostel, which were used when it was a Listening Station in the 1950’s.
What a beautiful day!

My friend Finola and i stayed here for a few nights and loved it...what a location! And all the staff are very welcoming. Highly recommend. We cant wait to return. Enjoy!
Lovely location and super staff. Probably the best hostel that I have stayed at all week. Perranporth was second , coverack third, Penzance and finally Boswinger.
Easily the best located YHA I have been to so far in the UK; Phil (the Hostel Manager) and the rest of the staff were great too; Had a great time exploring around.
Thanks guys for having us.
A real jem! Recently refurbished, clean and well maintained. Excellent beds, a good sleep
