Classy soulful vocals, honest heartfelt songs.
Joanna Cooke has a voice that mesmerises whenever it is heard. From live performances in intimate local venues to recordings on tracks played across the world, her versatility and soul shine through.
Joanna grew up in the south west UK on a musical diet of blues masters Muddy Waters and Howling Wolf with added input from female jazz and soul greats Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Aretha Franklin.
... Growing success has seen Joanna regularly play over 120 live shows a year. These have included festival main stages and supporting major label artists Rag N Bone Man as part of his hand picked bill; and JP Cooper. She has appeared on local BBC TV and radio shows.
Joanna's high quality vocals and top-line writing skills have been used internationally by dance music producers in Brazil (Vintage Culture - nearly 4m Youtube views), Australia (Odd Mob) and South Africa (Garcon) (dance chart hits in those countries) plus several releases in Europe with a major release to come.
โ€œPrepare yourselves: this is how it's done. The soulful and epic Joanna Cooke" BBC Introducing in Devon
" She was so, so good...but when is she not? Joanna Cooke is bursting with raw talent!" BBC Introducing Cornwall

What a find on a walk on the coast. The views are amazing the staff friendly and the food is delicious and affordable especially in this part of the world. We were staying close by and had dinner twice both times it was delicious. I cannot comment on the accommodation but would recommend to anyone in the area to come and give this super place a try for food and views.

We hired the whole place last weekend - Samba Galez.

This spacious place had modern and clean rooms. Great views from the cafe and beautiful coastal walks. Lovely friendly staff too. What's not to like?

Lovely warm pit stop after messing about in the rock pools on the beach, with my dog, who was also welcomed inside ๐Ÿพ Hot choc with marshmallows and cream was delish ๐Ÿ˜‹ and a real pick me up. Not stayed at the hostel so canโ€™t comment. Friendly staff. ๐Ÿ‘ Trey Bay is fabulous! ๐ŸŒŠ

Just come back From Treyarnon bay after spending a couple of nights in their new land pod. Me & my partner had an amazing time. We Slept well ,really cosy for just the 2 of us. ( we used the spare quilts to sleep on as you can feel the cold through the join in the middle )Breathtaking views from the pod especially after taking the roof off.showers room were good and clean. Totally recommend the experience of the land pod!

We pre booked b/fast and evening meal which was great value for money. Staff was attentive and very friendly. Overall was excellent and canโ€™t wait to go back

Hired the whole place. 30 of us! Amazing family Christmas. Mat the Manager really laid back even loaned us Body Boards for our Boxing Day Dip - fabulous time by all ages 2 - 89 :)

User

Great place, beautiful setting, 100m from the sea, great live music. Many happy times here.

User

Great food and quick service, and a great location.

User

Fantastic place to visit regardless of age.. We visit often with our son who is now 13, our son also loves it- there's plenty to do with the beach, walks , boarding , surfing etc .. The hostel itself is in this beautiful location right next to the beach , it has a great atmosphere with helpful ,friendly lovely staff . If your camping there or staying in the hostel all amenities are fab.

They are often bands/ musicians who play live and this creates an amazing atmosphere that ALL ages would enjoy ..

I recommend a visit and I highly recommend a long stay - it's simply beautiful, tranquil and fun .

User

Exclusive hire over Christmas - 30 of us over 4 generations and we couldn't have wanted for more. Bags of room, extremely comfortable and a view to die for. I am pretty confident we'll be back

Excellent place. Extremely helpful staff, clean comfortable rooms, beautiful viiews. One downside was the fact small children were allowed in kitchen. This was a safety hazard. At one point there was a family of six children from age 3 to 16 in the kitchen with their parents. They were in the way whilst I was getting hot food out of microwave and when carrying hot drinks.

Beautiful scenery, excellent accommodation ๏ฟฝ

User

Beautiful location and the staff worked really hard to be friendly when we stayed for five nights in August - great to be so close to the beach and have access to a kitchen

User

Visited your bar on our last evening staying in a holiday let at Treyarnon bay. Great sun down and tasty beers. I would like to stay with you - it felt relaxed and cool.

User

Spent another fab week here in a family room with ensuite . The newly vamped rooms are perfect and provide all the necessary basics. My teenage boys particularly liked the USB charging plugs in the bunk beds!

All of the staff at Trey Bay are very friendly and helpful. It's kept very clean and provides all the needs of a youth hostel. The YHA is geared up for surfers and beach goers with plenty of space to dry out your wetsuits, etc.

My only criticism would be that you need an additional area to eat/ relax indoors for residents during the busy seasons as the bar and lounge areas are packed with tourists.

It's a beautiful location with stunning scenery, amazing beaches, great surf and beautiful coastal walks. Everything that makes a perfect holiday.

User

View is fantastic but long waits to order food or drinks management of staff was poor on our last vist the only girl who couldn't speak English was trying to take orders at the counter while other staff looked on while emptying tables square pegs round holes sprang to mind and has being a downside for the last 2 or so years

My family and I have been coming to this Youth Hostel every year for 15 years and it has literally been our home away from home, but the past couple of years we've been considering whether we should stay or not. This year has been particularly disappointing. Because they now want you to pay as you book we have not been able to pay in advance so we have to spend our week swapping rooms and camping some nights because we can't afford to book a year in advance.

What once was a games room/ TV room has now become a breakfast room which is only open 2 hours a day. For the rest of the day it is locked. The only place now to chill in the hostel is the lounge/ dinning area which is packed with cafe customers. There is not enough room now for all the hostel guests to sit or eat. We've had to spend a few evenings in our bedrooms to eat our tea, which is disgusting.

The games / TV room was a room where children, teenagers and young adults could hang out, watch DVDs, play games and make friends. Now families are forced out of the hostel just do keep occupied and avoid being bored in their rooms.

My other issues is the WIFI. You use to have to pay for it and it was actually quite good, but now it's free it is apalling.

We no longer feel welcome, we no longer feel looked after. We no longer feel we can call this hostel our home away from home.
