Lovely operator and lovely driver collected me and my post op cat from the vets. He drove carefully, was polite and a little chatty (not too much which I liked). Definitely will use again 😊

Have been staying York for several days and used York Cars Taxis on a number of occasions. Each time the car arrived promptly and their drivers were all very chatty and provided local information when requested. A first class service which I would thoroughly recommend.

So glad my daughter recommended York Cars Taxis. After a stressful day at hospital the taxi arrived within 10 minutes of calling. Lovely relaxing drive home with a very nice and chatty driver. Very reasonable rates too. Thank you York Cars Taxis. Will definitely be recommending.

Had to book a taxi at the last minute, at a really busy time when 2 other taxi firms had no-one free. Arrived on time, and chatty driver took us to the railway station in good time and safely arrived. Most relaxed I've been getting the train. Excellent service.

Booked easily enough, taxi arrived on time v friendly driver but seriously £19.80 for a 3.4 mile journey from flaxton to strensall is just ridiculous!!!!! £13.80 plus £6 for the "out of town" charge (which I was only told about when I called to change the pick up time!)
It's only £15 from the centre of york to strensall!!! Despite the good service I prob wouldn't use again... don't like feeling like I've been ripped off :(

Booked a taxi lba airport for 4 of us no problems whatsoever your driver ven is a credit wish more taxi drivers were like him would definitely book again

Avoid this company--extremely poor customer service!! My friend and I were booked on a train to London from York station at 15.30 last Sunday. We ordered a taxi from this company at 13.14hrs to pick us up in Pickering. We are not local to the area and the operator on the other line said it was fine if the taxi picked us up at 14.15 for us to make the 15.30 train in time. She also quoted £38.75. The driver turned up at 14.39 nearly half an hour late because he got lost. We missed our train. We hopped onto the 15.52hrs train and had to fork out another £56.00 each (£113 total) for the new tickets having already paid a lot of money for them. I called this company 5 times to try and get some help towards train ticket refund. I only managed to speak to a manager and eventually the boss this evening and despite hearing the telephone recording where his operator said she thought it was ok for us to get train on time (please note that had she even said there was a doubt whether we would make it I would have had the opportunity to consider other options) he said that his company had dispatched the taxi within 60 seconds of the call and therefore according to him they had done everything right. He clearly failed to see it from his customers viewpoint at all which is extremely disappointing and frustrating. At the end of the day there is no concern for customers here just his pocket so do not trust this company especially when you need to make important appointments.

I looked at Station Taxi reviews which were not flattering so decided to try York Cars. It might sound a little bit like what you would expect anyway but they were punctual and polite. Texts confirmed dispatch, arrival and a thank you for our custom. All in budget price provided by the busy but friendly lady in the call office. 5 stars. We'll use you guys again without hesitation.

Booked a taxi at the end of an event. Was advised that the taxi would arrive within 15mins. Called again 30 mins later as no taxi. Advised that taxi would be with us within 10 mins. Still no taxi after another 20 mins, so called again. Advised taxi was on its way, eta 5-6 mins. Bored of waiting 15 mins later, walked to the train station in the hope of finding a taxi. Driver of booked taxi called 10 mins after we arrived at the station, asking where we were and if we still needed the taxi?! Picked us up and asked us to advise on the best route home. Thoroughly unimpressed.

Taxi 40 min late despite booking day in advance. New driver thought the time I booked for was the time I called - is there no such thing as training?? All he has is an app to look at, dispatch office doesn't talk to him to chase.

Booked a cab half hour ago to go to train staition,on the way through Leeman road we got a surprise road traffic...the lady driver was very friendly and could not do enough for me as i needed to get this train at 8.47! Thanks to her I made it to train on time...so for me was a 5* service,thank you so much and will definitely recommend this taxi company to anyone!
