We’ve been having some top chocolate lovers joining us lately. Look who dropped by to test the chocolate this week!

Loving seeing what other great producers get up to with our chocolate! You must check out the fabulous Bluebird Bakery in York, Malton & Leeds and sample their brownies made with our Works 63% Colombian chocolate! Great for eating! And brownies!

A Very Happy Yorkshire Day! To celebrate a day that is everything that is special to us at York Cocoa House we've worked together with the wonderful team at York Gin to share with you our latest and possibly most exciting collaboration yet!
Combining the art & science of the distiller & the chocolate maker our York Gin Cocoa Chocolate has been crafted from the cocoa that remains after the York Gin has been drawn through the beans leaving behind gentle aromatics that create ...its unique flavour.
The Confectioners of York would expertly practice the extraction of essential essences of plants and herbs to craft their medicines. Apothecaries like Berry and Terry would use these essences to balance delicate flavours that would eventually become sugared to appease their more astringent flavours. Working with the fabulous gin makers at York Gin we've re-visited this ancient skill to extract the essences of some of the finest cocoa, unveiling the fruitiness that is captured in the fermentation process in the depths of Peru in our Gran Nativo Blanco beans. These beans have a beautiful sweetness and fruitiness like no other beans we've discovered so far, lending themselves perfectly to our first extraction experiment.
In a complete full circle collaboration we've used the cocoa beans that have been drawn in the still to create our York Cocoa Gin chocolate, having deeply inhaled the full range of botanicals in the York Gin recipe they are left with vibrant floral aroma that has embedded into the beans.

We're delighted to welcome you to visit York's newest Chocolate Manufactory, discover our chocolate, learn where it comes from, see how its made, and taste for yourselves the flavours create our chocolates. We’ve been putting some of our finishing touches to our Cocoa Academy this last week - more news about courses, classes, tours and training coming soon!

We've had a fascinating morning exploring the flavours in the chocolate 3 weeks in to our chocolate Manufactory being up and running and the chocolate is changing almost daily. The Meta once breathed is so different to the chocolate freshly made! The banana, baked spice gives way to notes of liquorice and black currant! It's fascinating stuff this chocolate thing! No wonder so many seek to make it all the same! Think you can expect some magical ideas coming from our chocolate kitchen at York Cocoa House over the next few weeks.

Helpful staff, lovely cocoa. Highly recommend

Came in today after a gentleman asked us to try some chocolate, it was gorgeous, don't even like dark chocolate but this tasted incredible.



Got asked inside to try new milk chocolate they're producing and ended up cheeking our way to a hot chocolate using one. First in the world to try and im afraid to say. No chocolate will ever live up to how amazing this tasted.
