Hi Hi it's me Cleo! I was at the centre for agesssss and no one could understand why. Luckily for me I found my furrever home last week and I couldn't be more excited!! I seem to have settled in here already and really enjoy rolling around on my mummys carpet and having some fuss. I have also found my very own spot by the window where I can people watch, its super fun! Mummy is baffled that I wasn't adopted sooner, but I got my home eventually!
Lots of love & kisses Cleo xx

This fun group is well worth joining. They hold regular competitions and shows, and provide certificates and rosettes for the winners of each category. It's very cheap to join and all funds go to rescue organisations including Yorkshire Cat Rescue. Go on! Great article in the Keighley News about the cards designed by staff at Hallmark UK and Ireland in Bradford. If you want to buy the cards, you can get them from our shops, centre or website :) https://www.keighleynews.co.uk/…/175504 37.card-designers-d…/

FOUND - Handsome black male cat, found in Sowerby Bridge, believed to be a stray, came in to the centre on Thursday 4 April. If you think he may be your cat please contact Yorkshire Cat Rescue on 01535 647184 or email us at mail@yorkshirecatrescue.org quote reference 197/19

Hi there hoomans, the rather handsome tabby Tuna here! I was once living out there in the streets which sucked big time, but then a nice lady found me and took me here! It's weird being here after spending time out there in the big wide world, but I'm slowly settling in! Despite my size and tom cat looks I am a little scaredy boy still and just need a little bit of time and of course a new home to come round! I don't like other cats or little people much, and it's unknown whether I could live with a dog, but hopefully someone out there has the home for me! I do enjoy a good head fuss and attention so please come see me and maybe we can be friends? x x

Hello everyone the gorgeous Miss Kitty here and I have a confession!! I do have a bit of a diva streak in me (almost like an inner Mariah Carey), but it's only because there is nothing better you can do in your life than talking to me, stroking me and generally listening to all the amazing things I have to tell you!! Once we get to know each other I need to warn you I will start to love you very much and you will quickly become my favorite person. This means I can get quite n...eedy and a tiny bit possesive :( I need to be in a home with NO other cats (there is only me!) and NO dogs (stoopids). You can sometimes talk on the phone BUT NOT FOR LONG! These are the rules. It's just I'm a little insecure sometimes and when I want to be with you, well that's all I want to do and surely it's OK if I remind you that I am the center of your universe from time to time?? If you really need to do that funny stuff you hoomans do then I can entertain myself by taking toys out of those toy box bin things you keep in the room. I am great at paper football and cotton bud juggling! Ping! Ping! Do come to see me I promise I will make it worth your while! 😸 xx xx

As it is kitten season we want to prepare ourselves and ensure we have all the tools we need to look after these little bundles of joy. Often some kittens need hand rearing or bottle fed depending if they are not with their mothers, or just struggle to latch on. If you can we would be extremely grateful to anyone who could buy some feeding bottles for us. They will be a big help. 😽

Hiiii there, I'm big boy Bertie! I'm here at YCR as my owners could no longer keep me :( I'm a little shy at the moment, as I've never been outside so I'm not really used to all this new stuff! This means I would be happy being an indoor only cat, but if you have a garden I may get brave enough to go out and have a wander! If you spend enough time with me you will soon see that I'm a big softie and despite my shyness at first I do lurvve attenton and to roll all over the floor next to you! I need to see the vets as I'm a little scabby at the moment, but the hoomans think it's just from those nasty bitey fleas! As soon as that is all sorted I will be on the lookout for a new furrever home (preferably with no other animals or little people) could that be with you? x

We went to go visit Burns Pet Nutrition last week! As you know we are one of the 3 charities that Burns are supporting as part of their Charity of the Year programme.
It was great to visit Burns to talk about working together, and learn more about the food they make. Hopefully they will be making more food aimed at cats and kittens so watch this space!
The food Burns has provided for us helped us to give an estimated 2,000 meals to cats in our care in January alone!
... Thank you so much 😽 x

Brother & Sister Skittle and Frodo here!!
🐯Morning Skittle! 🐱Morning Frodo! 🐯You should come inside in the warm instead of hiding outside. These lovely hoomans want to give us some fuss! ... 🐱I know but I'm scared :( New places and people frighten me and I don't know to react. I really need a home so I can be myself. 🐯That's true Skittle. Don't you worry though, as your brother I will protect you and do my best to get us a home! 🐱Thank you. You're the best brother ever. 🐯Don't you worry I will be all over those hoomans! Let's hope they will see past your shyness as well. I mean look there's two of us which is twice the amount of love, AND we also get on with other cats and dogs. 🐱Let's keep our paws crossed then! There has to be someone out there who wants two bundles of joy..

Now re-homed!!
Hi there hoomans, Chatty here who just loves to talk!! I came to YCR as my owners were moving and couldn't take me with them. 😿 This means I'm still finding my feet here and may be a lickle nervous at first, but I still have a lot of talking to do! I have started to come out to see the hoomans here and they have noticed that I lurvvee to have knee snuggles. It's just so comfy to sit on you and rest my head for lots of head fusses 😽 I am not good with other pusscats or children, but I would get on with a dog! With a bit of time you will soon find I will become your bestest friend so please come to see me! I'm such an affectionate boy once I get to know you x x x

User

We are so impressed with Yorkshire Cat Rescue and all the staff. The facilities of the centre are brilliant and the care and attention towards the cats is second to none. We travelled over an hour each way to collect our new little cat and it is well worth the journey (despite other rescue centres being much closer to us). Keep up the amazing work everyone.😀

User

Thank you for helping me find my forever friend on sunday. Kevin is settling in great and loves his mummy cuddles! .... I couldn't recommend this rescue center more! They were patient with me and while it was love at first sight with me and Kevin, they kept him aside while I looked at the other beautiful kitties who need homes. My heart was with Kevin, so they made sure I had everything I needed and talked me through the important information, gave me a starter food kit and let me take Kevin home the same day!

If anyone wants a kitten/ cat this is the place to go, they are amazing how they look after each one and train them so they are ready to go to their new homes. Take some time to visit the rescue and you will straight away agree with me ... Thank you guys

User

Staff took time to understand our lifestyle and needs and wants and introduced us to cats accordingly, encouraging us to spend time forging a bond with prospective adoptees. The actual adoption process was speedy, efficient, and very comprehensive - we left with not only a cat (swiftly followed by a kitten) but also the feeling that the team would be happy to assist with any queries and issues ongoing (no matter how daft!).

User

Not what I expected at all!.

The care and attention shown towards all the cats and kittens in this shelter is second to none! We recently adopted a cat called Magic. The process of this was lengthy to say the least but that was the best part about it, knowing how everything goes and happens with them and knowing that they’ll keep in contact with you about your newly adopted cat is great they also tell you everything there is to know about adoption and how to slowly introduce new surroundings to them and/or other pets!

Excellent service from a team of truly passionate people!

User

I want to thank everyone who helped me with the adoption of my kitten Mika (Vinnie) last Sunday! You were all so helpful, and answered any questions I had. I felt so comfortable, and the adoption process was so simple! It's clear to see how much love and care goes into saving and looking after all the kitties! An amazing centre, I will be spreading the message!

User

I think Yorkshire Cat Rescue are amazing, I have fostered for them and they truly do care about every cat and kitten that comes into their care. All the staff are mad about cats and work tirelessly!!I also work for a local vets and they have taken in many stray cats from us which would otherwise have been put to sleep or released back on the streets!I would definitely recommended visiting if you are looking for a new addition, they are so helpful and lovely!!!!!!xx

User

I adopted Heidi (was Angleica) last Monday.... amazing staff, I had lots of questions regarding introducing her to my other kitten and the staff were happy to help and give me advice and guidance. I couldn't of asked for better service or a better kitten! Both kittens are so happy and have become the best of friends. Thank you Yorkshire Cat Rescue xx

User

Helpful staff and a very straightforward adoption process with plenty of guidance for new cat owners. We have come away with 2 lovely kittens, insurance for a month included. The kitten fosterers are clearly very dedicated too and our kittens are well behaved and already litter trained, we are thoroughly impressed with the whole experience. Thank you

User

Hello its a super place and I have adopted a lovely three legged black cat called Taz - fell in love with him straight away - he is settling in ok at the moment but been very gentle and patient with him as he is little nervous. Thank you for letting me take him home - he will be loved so much Pattiex

User

Having seen a video of Morgana, a long term resident at YCR, we went to see her but she'd already found a home. We fell in love with a girl called Magic. All the staff were great. Very knowledgable and do their best to match adult cats and kittens with their new human friends. If you have room for a feline in your life, or can help with a donation, please support YCR.

User

Great place and a straight forward adoption procedure. I applied for a cat that got adopted and was offered another one. I adopted her today. They take care of cats well, i.e. they all have both dry and wet food, blankets, toys, kennel and a separate place for a litter tray. Staff is absolutely lovely too. The adoption fee is a major value for money given what one gets for the price while also giving a home to one little creature who needs it. I could not recommend this charity more

User

Friends Of Baxter goes to offer regular Reiki to the cats at YCR and I have to say it's a wonderful cat rescue. The staff are very friendly, caring and attentive to the cats needs - medical, emotional and otherwise. The cats are well looked after and their accommodation is always clean. All cats are vetted and only available for adoption when they are ready for a new home. If looking to adopt a cat - look no further - they always have some adorable cats looking for a loving companion.

User

Friendly warm people and it really showed how much they care about the cats. The cat rooms were bright and clean with lots of hand knitted blankets and toys!

We adopted “Dan” formally known as Ross and he only took 4 days to settle in and already going out into the garden and making friends!

Thank you Yorkshire Rescue x

User

Everyone at the shelter was so lovely all the cats/kittens are looked after well the team was so welcoming thank you so so much for this furry blessing in my life. I adopted Arthur - now called Sirius - A very happy and loveable boy.

User

Cats are at the heart of everything this charity stands for!

We found our 3 day old kitten out in the rain, after ringing the rspca and being directed the nearest vets (the vets basically said that she would need putting to sleep as no one to look after her) and coming home with baby cat formula I fed her for three days. I got in contact with lots of cat rescues, but Yorkshire cat rescue were the only ones willing to help. Our baby went to the most amazing foster mummy, auntie B.

She is an absolute star and truly has a heart of gold, she took care of storm, fed her, pooped her and gave her an opportunity to grow into an adorable baby girl.

We then picked her up last Sunday from the rescue. I would highly recommend xxxxx thank you Yorkshire cat rescue xxxx

User

An excellent experience. Welcoming people, and realistic expectations. I was shown around suitable cats, not rushed or pressured. I pencilled my name in and went to make final decisions in my own time.

The kitten we brought home today seems confident and healthy. She’s settled straight away.

Whereas a national charity kept telling me there were no cats for rehoming, despite advertising to me like mad, there are cats here and even with a toddler in our family we were acceptable “parents”. Thanks YCR!

User

Amazing place, full of love and hope. Staff will go to any lengths to give cats in their care, every chance of finding a happy home. I adopted a beautiful boy Tigger who needed extensive medical treatment whilst at the centre, they wouldn't give up on him, two weeks after adopting him, he made it home and he made our house a home. YCR will be a part of our lives for a long time to come.
