We attended this festival for the first time this weekend and had a great time. We arrived late Friday and were guided to the far field which, although a bit of a walk to the toilets, suited us as it was quieter with plenty of space for my 2 year old to run around. I loved the relaxed atmosphere on the campsite where we were able to chose where to pitch. The toilets on the campsite and in the arena were emptied and restocked regularly which was a festival first for me....I took my toilet roll with me on each trip to the loos and never once had to use it as there was always plenty there! Loved the hand wash stations next to the camping toilets. The food stalls offering meals on the Friday night were ample and we were pleased that they continued to serve late on (until about 11 pm) which enabled us to set up camp before heading down for food. There was a variety of 'street food' on offer throughout the day and evening all at similar prices to other food festivals and music festivals we have attended. My little boy loved the fairground rides and we enjoyed sampling the food and drink on the stalls and spending our well earned cash. Entertainment throughout the day added to the atmosphere and it looked like everyone was having a great time on the Saturday evening singing and dancing along to the bands (we missed out on this due to having a toddler with us but instead enjoyed stuffing our faces on the campsite with the lovely foods we had bought in the day). There was some loud music playing late on Saturday but this is the fault of some inconsiderate people not the festival, the marshalls were doing all they could to track down the culprits so we could all get a good night's sleep. The 3 night camping enabled us to enjoy the festival at a leisurely pace without feeling the need to rush round all the stalls in one day. All in all a fantastic weekend and we are hoping to return next year.

User

This was our second year and we loved it , great atmosphere my 6,yr held an owl , made slime , went on the vintage fair played football with kids older and younger than him , great music and the pizzas were freshly cooked and tasted delicious , although this year we took our own picnic and drinks as we were charged quite a lot for drinks last year , but we will definitely be back next year keep up the good work

User

This was our 1st event but we are already looking forward to booking the next one.

The facilities we excellent and the toilets and showers where always clean and fresh no matter what time you used them. Loads to see and do all day long and into the evening with various tribute bands and signers. We had an amazing time and looking forward to next year. Well done to you all.xx

User

It's the first time we've been and absolutely loved it, very family and dog friendly, clean camping area and well organized. An impressive amount of food and drink stalls from all around the world which left us spoilt for choice and everything from beer tents to champagne bars, many interesting and unique produce stalls with free tasters on food and drink I loved the many varieties of gin, cheeses and chutneys of which we bought quite a few and can't wait to try some of the suggested recipes, personally my highlight was seeing and having my picture taken with Gino d'campo who's my favourite chef and only wish we'd got tickets for the Sunday too as James Martin was there, will definitely be returning next year.

User

Great event, very family oriented. Nice atmosphere and loads of food stalls of all varieties during the day. Live music in the evening but quite low key, perfect for us, just what we like. Be prepared to spend abit to fully enjoy the experience but we'll worth it as not expensive to come. Only comment I wud say, is still loud music playing at 11.50pm, not good on a quiet at 11pm family site.

User

Came to the first one at Auction mart in Skipton. We had an amazing time trying nice little samples etc and had lot of fun buying nice goodies. So impressed were we by the second year at Funkirk Farm we have booked the third year. We really enjoy this event for the diversity of what is on offer the lovely food and drink and not forgetting the live entertainment. Who could forget the celebrity chefs. Even better there are some amazing hotels locally so if you don’t fancy camping you can treat yourself to a relaxing weekend in God’s own County. See you soon

User

Absolutely fantastic event. It’s our first time here and we are already counting down the days to next year. Very family friendly our 2 year old had a ball. The vintage fair was lovely and the prices were reasonable. Would have liked to have seen a few more stalls selling fresh meat and maybe a van where you could charge phones if you were here for the weekend as there is no electric.

Well done on organising a amazing event.

And to all those who have put negative comments against this event. This is only the 3rd year of this event. Rome wasn’t built it a day. And each year it just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Well done to all on the team Top Job.

User

This was my third year at this event. It was really good, but fewer places to have tastes from, just much more food to buy. Looks like it’s becoming a fun fair with lots of food vendors. Saw James Martin who was fabulous, funny and entertaining.

The workshops were sold out almost instantly so we didn’t manage to get on any, which was disappointing.

The atmosphere was really nice, chilled and family friendly.

Car parking should NOT be charged for and is not really legal to make you give to a charity, unless you choose to. Having paid £28:00 with fees, it’s not really on to charge for parking.

User

This was my first time at the show. We camped with some friends and had a great time although we did clear the sheep poo from our area!. The stall holders were very friendly still I agree with some other comments that samples were a bit small. I guess you could always ask for another!

I would say the camping could have been better organised in terms of the facilities. There was only one shower van for and too few toilets for a lot of campers. By Saturday morning almost all the porta loos were blocked and then many around the site also became blocked. Next year more showers and more loos needed. It would be nice to have proper loos - We have been to many events where the loos are in a portable van with sinks for handwashing. None of the festival loos (apart from the ones for campers) had any hand wash facilities and then people stuck their hands in food samples!

The events could have been better advertised - maybe a daily flyer for campers? More seating required around the site - easy to put more hay bales out and more shade especially if it was sunny or raining.

I am not sure why the big tent wasn't utilised in the evenings. There was plenty of space for another staging area for musicians and it would have made a nice atmosphere.

My final comments are about the VIP chef's. I was very disappointed with Gino. It was like he doesn't know if he wants to be a chef or a comedian. Either way there was no need to be so rude to people and such bad language was out of order at a family event. He has gone way down in my estimation. James, on the other hand, was brilliant. Funny, cheeky and charming and he cooked some great food. Well worth the money.

We are waiting to book for next year. Can we have Mary Berry????

User

Just got back from this years festival, this was me and my husbands first time and loved it. The basic camping was an eye opener, the portaloos and the showers in the back of a trailer were basic, but all you needed, just not enough, could have done with another, shower block due to the amount of campers. Entertainment was brilliant especially the take that tribute act. Only one criticism they need more arts and craft, also more food tasting, ie local sausages cooked and a bite size piece for you to try, just like they did with the gins etc we will defiantly be booking for next year though. Loved it

User

Had a great weekend, some great food stalls and enough for the kids to do...

Only down side was we camped 3 nights in the Motorhome, we have no problem with wild camping but I thought the field would have had a little less cow shit in it...

Also we didn’t pay to see Gino or James as I think it was a bit over priced and the local chefs demonstration were very good..

User

First time at this particular event and we stayed in Keighley, used the train and free vintage shuttle bus which was brilliant, and had an awesome time. One point I’d like to make to all the food sellers at all these events is to do small ‘samplers’ snack size portions in addition to full meals! I’d like to try lots of different recipes, that’s why I go to food and drink festivals ...to try new things. No-one offered ‘small’ tasters and that’s the only thing I’d like to see improve at all these events.

User

Fantastic weekend! Kid friendly, dog friendly, good camping facilities. Loads to do and see. Brilliant chef demos, tasting... yum yum. James Martin was fantastic and he is so funny. Only down side... don’t have Gino back... his demo was not suitable for kids as his use of the F word was suitable for a club not a family friendly demo 😡

User

Absolutely fab day with plenty to see and do. It would have been much better had the map been correct, the poor chap for the first cocktail making class had to wait ten minutes as we were the only people there. No one could find the tent! It would have been nicer if things were a little better sign posted with maybe some announcements when things were due to start

The first year I loved it at the cattle mart venue much nicer. The hairy bikers were fab&cooked a proper meal bring them back.

Alas this year very disappointing the gin cocktails from the gin waggon had little or no gin in them this year@ £6.50 each. £8 for a very small pizza.Where was the fish n chips stall from last year?

Where do I start with Gino let's just say it was the 'Gino show'with little cooking&unecessary swearing with children present!

Very disappointed :(

User

Plenty of food stalls to eat at.

Lots of lovely things to sample too. I enjoyed most of what I tried. Even catered for the gluten intolerant too.

Ridiculous to pay to park then £16.00 per adult to get in was a bit expensive. It would have been better to have been refunded the cost of parking from the entrance fee.

User

More seating,. More live music and buzz ,it's fell off a bit. Plus we missed take that tribute,. Put them on at a silly time,. 3 would be good for big acts while it's busy,. Fine tweaks needed, also price very high, and the silly VIP ticket thing,. One entrance for all so all can see celebrity chefs not 25 to watch a chef.

User

I visited on Saturday after having a great time last year. We really wanted to see Gino so paid the extra money to get VIP. The VIP bit seems like a bit of a waste of time if I’m honest. We arrived to Gino’s Q and A 30 mins before it started and they had already started letting everyone else in the tent so we didn’t get sat any closer than everyone else and the tent was so busy we couldn’t get our drink as we went in. Gino was totally great though was just a shame everyone else seemed to use it to get Selfies while the rest of us had to miss out. The event was great and loved all the food choices.

We went back at about 3.30pm to collect our free drink before we set off on the long drive back only to be told they had packed up and gone home. I was directed over to a boy who literally had no clue what I was talking about. So I went to the information desk. A lady called Liz was great and got me and my mam our drinks but this took over half an hour in total to solve so we had to drink them as we walked to the car.
