What a lovely place to come! Nothing is too much trouble in the ice rink. There’s a lovely warm

Place to have a drink and something to eat. It has full length glass window’s so you can see every part of the ice ring. People with older kids could just sit and watch in the warmth. The old fashioned fun fair was really good too. So much Christmas fun had by all.

Well done for York’s ufo for sponsoring. Great talk talk are giving back to the community.

We had a great time, our girls aged 7 and 9 had never skated before and the youngest was struggling to begin with, I asked if we could have a snowman to help her and at the time they were all booked out but 2 minutes later someone came to find us with a snowman, he skated round with us and tried his best to help (she's not good with being told what to do!) before the end of the session she was getting loads more confident. I haven't skated for nearly 20 years since I lived I Hull but it was so much fun, we all want to go again. The staff were great, so helpful! 😘

Visited today for the first time. We loved it my 5 year old daughter enjoyed the ice skating her first time wasn't too many people on the ice either would recommend going a bit earlier to get a penguin or snowman as we got one but a lot of the smaller kids didn't get one they are £5 on top of the ice skating price which makes it expensive considering it was £10.95 for me and £9.95 for my daughter next time I would do a package online where you can get a skate, drink and ride for £13.95. enjoyed the marque cafe next door loved sitting having a hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream they where £2.50 you could have a photo taken on the ice rink by a photographer which you could buy keyring etc from after. Santa was £4.50 with a good present he spent a lot of time with her & so did the lady dressed as a elf at the start one thing I would of said is it would of been nice to have some Christmas music playing or something it wasn't very Christmassy for me. bought a bauble with a photo in for the tree that was £8. enjoyed the fair rides but 2/3 tokens each and adults have to ride with the children on some rides so means 4 Tokens a ride makes it expensive but it was nice. I would return next year for the ice skating. I think it could be made better with some small Christmas market stalls selling maybe chestnuts etc to make it more Christmassy.

The staff in the booth told me that my son was too big for a penguin. What they failed to say was he was he could have a snowman instead. As you can imagine this caused tears on the ice when he realized he couldnt skate and the other kids had one. However after briefly speaking to a manager we was given another hour on the ice and a snowman- great service but need to train booth staff as steward on ice said lots of parents complaining over we thing. The place was lovely and not too crowded. Santa was patient and friendly and we had a lovely time.

User

My son and his 5 friends had an awesome time ice skating! From the beautiful blue sky to the perfect ice rink (which wasn't too crowded) they had fun making memories. We will be back! Thank you!

User

I just want to say a massive thankyou for making my sons day brilliant and giving him the experience if going on the ice rink in his wheelchair (my sons jj with tom in the video 😊) all your staff were friendly and very helpful. Thankyou sooo much 😀

User

Fab visit to Yorkshire Winter Wonderland and PapaKitchen, so accommodating for our big group booking and fast service! The ice rink stewards were especially great making sure everyone falling over on the ice was alright We would all recommend the Nachos too!!

User

Absolutely fantastic night out with the kids aged 6 and 9 they loved it the ice was perfect fabulous hot chocolate and fun rides! all the staff are so nice and very helpful!!!

User

A fantastic experience for my little boy. He loved it. Staff were so friendly and helpful even helped me on the ice with him when he wanted to abandon his penguin . Will hopefully be back before Christmas is over.

User

The ice skating was good, the boys all enjoyed it. What let it down was the fun fair ride was part of the package but by the time they came off the ice rink at 8.15 all the rides had closed, so they didn’t get the full experience. There were even people going on the ice at 8.15 after us so they missed out on this too.

User

Really enjoyed the skating and rides. The cafe was nice too... great hot chocolate. Was very disappointed that there were no stalls selling Christmas gifts etc. However, whole place looked lovely with the lights. Main problem was the staff at the ice skating. They were incredible rude which was a disappointment. Still worth an afternoon out though

User

I would like to make a complaint please, I brought my daughter to winter wonderland on Saturday evening and decided we would pay for her to see Santa

Now my daughter is 7 years old

I am absolutely disgusted in the present that she received, she was not happy and I certainly am not

It is a safety hazard

Therefore I am considering taking this matter further

It was a bag, like an actual shopping bag that you zip yourself

What good is that to a child

I was a little disappointed the ice had big ridges out of it and the rides where for tiny children if your kids are about 10 and under it will be ok. It's a shame I felt let down for the price tag it over priced I wouldn't go back.

User

Really disappointed by the Yorkshire Winter Wonderland. At £48 I expected a lot. To turn up, and find the Father Christmas was an extra £4.50 each. On top of that, a charge of £5 for a skate aid was disgusting. I booked a family ticket, two adults, two children. I expected there to be enough skate aids for the amount of children booked on at least.

To then be changed £1 to look after my handbag.

I spoke to the 'manager' who was unhelpful and just said well, we can't be expected to know how many children are going to come.

And to top it off, the cafe refused to swap two hot chocolate drinks for two squash drinks that were half the value.

I am very upset that our family Christmas day out was ruined.

This place is a rip off.

I went iceskating with my husband and his niece on Boxing Day but we were very disappointed as the rink was too small and was full of ridges where it hadnt been cleaned properly so was really difficult to skate on. My husbands niece had never skated before so it was almost impossible for her to learn on a rink like that! The boots we were given to skate in were the worst skates I have ever used as they were hard plastic which rubbed ur feet to bits and the blades on mine were blunt so I had to change them for another pair as I was sliding all over the place! The rink was too busy and no separate section for toddlers to skate with the handheld penguins which I found dangerous for them when some adults were running round the rink on their Bauers. Somerset House in London is so much better than here and they give you Bauer skates as standard. The rink is cleaned properly and nice and smooth. I wouldnt skate here again!

User

Skated on New Year's Eve. On arrival the rink was swimming in water!! The water pooled at the edges and as soon as people entered the rink they fell over and were saturated before skating. When a member of staff was asked why it was so water logged they advised it was better to skate!! We wanted to ice skate not water ski!!! Very disappointed this year enjoyed it the last few years. No attempt made to remove the water as the machine cleared the ice it appeared to add more water. Lots of people complained at the time but got the same response. Such a shame really

It's so bad that you have to give 1 star to write a review. Went ice-skating today on the 26/12 with my husband, mother-in-law and 2 year old niece and had such a poor experience. The price is way to much for what it is. For my 2 year old niece it was £11 with the £2 rent of a penguin. Kids at this age shouldn't be paying at all. I had my own skates with me, but still had to pay full price where the rent of the shoes is included. The size of the ice-ring is a joke. The ice is cracked and full of lane grooves, which makes it hard to skate on. It was the first time for my niece and she had problems to skate on the ice and holding to the penguin and was crying and wanted to get off the ice. Bear in mind, she is only two! We finally managed to convience her to stay on by putting her on the feets of the penguin, but we were told by a very rude girl who worked there that this is not recommended. I've explained to her the situation, and pointed out that there were clearly footprints on the penguin to state that you can stand on them, but she won't listen or give me a solution to the problem. Another girl turned up and both started to argue with me. Meanwhile my niece started to cry and scream. So my mother-in-law had to go off the ice with her. That happened after about 15min of skating. There was no refund or nice words just very bad customer service. After that I couldn't really enjoy the skate anymore. We went here to have a nice family experience and not to get verbally attacked by two girls, who clearly need to have some customer training. I just wanted to leave, but the guy couldn't find my shoes, which the same girl from the ice, put for me away without giving me a number. The guy was not really helpfull. I've told him that I have beige kneelong boots in seize 5 and he were just saying which colour and if I not can describe them. He were not searching my shoes or speaking to me and after a while he let me behind the counter with a wave to search for the shoes by myself, while he was just standing around not looking at me. I will definitely not come here again!

It only has 1 star because I can't rate lower!!

Booked for the 14.15 slot at 11am to make sure we could book a snowman for our son to use on the ice. Turned up to be told we couldn't have one! As a way to compensate a skate steward would remain with us. Only to have her for 5 minutes!

Our son fell many times and the last time, banged his head!!! No steward came to help! We came off the ice and asked to make a complaint to get a rude kid behind the desk saying it wasn't his fault!

Spoken to Maria Farrugia this morning, who blames it all on human error and is out of her control!! Best thing - suggested we come back to the hiddious place!!!!
