About Young Citizens

We inspire people to take part in society as equal members of it. We help them learn how to do so effectively by teaching them citizenship skills. In particular, we help young people to understand how the law, politics and public life affect them. - We promote civic participation;- We help teachers, schools and colleges to deliver citizenship education;- We work with young people on issues that concern them. The Citizenship Foundation, the charity which supports teachers and schools to provide citizenship education and experiences for all students, today launches Young Citizens. This is a new brand to help inspire children and young people to take part in society as active, engaged and motivated citizens – and thus to build a better future for us all. The charity believes there is an urgent need for co-ordinated action by Government, and others, to strengthen the opportunities for young people to engage in democratic society. Every young person should leave school with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take their place in society.
