Well, learning that I have CKD, kidney disease and that I should in future tailor my diet to encourage healthy action in the kidneys, I was in rather a quandary. So I went to see Ruth and talked to her about it all. She was/is kindness itself and explained many things, giving me an outline of sensible foods to be eating, also encouraging me not to give up my favourite foods but allow myself an indulgence from time to time. So thank you Ruth, you've done me a lot of good and I'm feeling happy with my diet and looking forward to days of healthy eating.

Ruth was referred by a colleague and I was keen to hear how she could help my husband with type 2 diabetes. She sat with us both and patiently explained in jargon free English how he (and I) should eat to maintain a healthy and balanced diet. Very few foods were off limits and portion control was essential. Ruth has so many gadgets and tricks (right up my husband's street) to help with this. We have left the consultation feeling inspired, knowing this is a long-term approach and sure in the knowledge that we will be able to make positive changes and improvements to our health. I looked for a nutritionist on the British Dietetic Association's website and Ruth's profile stood out for a few reasons, in particular her experience in the NHS covering 21 years. I visited Ruth at the Fleet Street clinic in London and was impressed at how much information Ruth asked about me and my diet and her knowledge about nutrition. She taught me a lot about a low FODMAP eating plan, how to ensure I got the nutrition I needed and how to introduce foods that had previously caused me a problem in a controlled way. I've started to do this and have seen an immediate improvement. For anybody suffering from IBS, any other medical conditions that impacts food and nutrition or those wishing to eat a balanced diet, I would highly recommend Ruth. A low FODMAP eating plan has worked for me so far.

I contacted Ruth to help assess my nonagenarian year old mother's diet as there had been ups and downs with weight, and she had become fussy in her eating. It was increasingly hard to be sure that she was getting a balanced diet. Ruth came to visit my mother in her care home. Ruth's approach is both sympathetic and practical. She assessed my mother's food intake and provided helpful and evidence based advice to improve her nutrition and enjoyment of food. She also gave advice to nursing and care staff which should help embed this knowledge in their practice. I would be happy to recommend her.
