Christmas is creeping up! And our diary is already filling up fast through November and December - and we haven't even announced our Christmas menu yet!

Went to the restaurant last night for a family birthday meal. This was the first time we’d visited since the venue had changed hands. We had the set menu of sharing platter, crispy duck pancakes, steak, sweet and sour chicken, xo prawns, etc and it didn’t disappoint. The squid and prawns were cooked to perfection and so fresh. I think the squid was possibly the best I’ve ever eaten. Service at the table was spot on and most importantly even though we were the last table in the restaurant to finish, we were not rushed to leave. So glad this restaurant is back, refreshed with new menu and ideas. We’ll be back.

This was my first visit since the change in management. I can highly recommend it. I regularly eat at Tattu in Manchester, which is arguably the best Chinese restaurant in the UK. I can honestly say that the Dim Sum at Yu-Ma-Mi was better than Tattu's; really tasty, only improvement that I could suggest would be for there to be a dipping sauce, even if it was just Soy Sauce. For main, I had Scallops which was pretty much perfect, and you get a decent portion of scallops too. Something that is always an issue when having Chinese is, do I have rice or do I have noodles. I am not a big lover of rice so would ordinarily opt for noodles. As there were 3 of us, we had both. The Coconut Rice was amazing, literally the best rice I have ever had.



Definitely will go again and looking forward to how the restaurant develops. Would really like sauces with the Dim Sum and things like Caramel Soy Beef adding to the menu. Also that drink options are expanded eg cocktails, mocktails, and more non alcoholic options, like Mango juice or Lychee juice.

The papaya Thai salad is as good as some I’ve eaten in a Thailand and Yu-Ma-Mi is the only place to go in Stoke-on-Trent for damn good dim sum! (Just order them all)



Throw in a live pianist, friendly staff, an excellent selection of beers and gin cocktails and you’re set. Yu-Ma-Mi is most definitely one of my happy places. 🤗

Perfect evening in every way, fantastic & friendly service from all the staff, all the meals were lovely & with Thai curry on the menu the Chinese or Thai tonight debate is a thing of the past. Customer for life.

My husband and I were visiting the area for our 1st Wedding Anniversary and really fancied some great asian food. I came across Yu-Ma-Mi and the dim sum caught my interest. This little treasure is a little out of the way on a quiet road, but the staff and Sam the owner made us feel super welcome and at home.

We wanted to try as many different dishes as we could so Sam made us up a Dim Sum taster with 4 different types to try, they were all freshly handmade and beautiful.

He informed us they had just finished roasting a duck and recommended we try some so we had a mix of duck and pork to try with some egg fried rice. I have to say that although we had to bring some leftovers back with us, it was the juiciest, fall-off-the-bone Chinese roast meat I have sampled.

They carry a few different unusual alcoholic drinks too, I had the Roku Japanese Gin, which was splendid and will be tracking it down to purchase some.

Over all if I could rate it 6/5 I would, wonderful place run with passion and love for what they do, and that makes it very special indeed!

Our food was prepared in a timely manor, and all dishes were beautifully presented. I highly recommend the scallops and sea bass 👌

Loved it! Staff very attentive and made it a personal experience. Two of us and we stayed 3 hours....not pressured to keep ordering and staff were knowledgeable about all items on menu. Lovely staff, atmosphere and food. No complaints. Will return with friends very soon xxx

I went for dinner last night and it was absolutely lovely. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, the staff were friendly and the pianist that was playing live in the background was a beautiful touch. I’d definitely recommend the place!

I must say wot a fabulous evening I had tonight there were 20 of us and everybody said how outstanding the food and the service was, nothing was to much trouble I’d definitely recommend party’s in the private room... loved every minute, thank you to Sam and staff x

Had a fantastic evening last night for my birthday - could not fault anything! The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and attentive. This is definitely the place to go if you are celebrating a special occasion or want to experience the best Chinese food in the area. Great evening last night at yu ma mi. Party of 6 superbly looked after by the very attentive and knowledgeable staff. Starting with great drinks menu with a good selection of gins and cocktails to sample. Fantastic food menu that caters for a wide range of tastes. The dim sum selection we had were delicious and our main meals were also excellent, all very fresh and tasty. Reasonable prices too for the quality.



Great to have a new local restaurant with a wide ranging, modern menu. We will certainly be back.

Amazing vegetarian and vegan selection. This is not your normal "mixed veg with a sauce" options you'll find at most places. You could tell thought had gone into it, rather than just an afterthought. Staff were great with their recommendations. Everything we are was amazing. Had a great evening, and will be visiting again asap.

Amazing experience! We had the set menu and every course was delicious! Especially the dim sum. The quality of food was damn good, especially the squid and prawn starter.

Absolutely fantastic place. Food was unreal, fresh and full of flavour! Best authentic Asian cuisine I’ve ever tasted! Most dishes are/ can be made gluten free! Excellent service and great range of drinks!! Will definitely be returning to this awesome place! ���

Absolutely delicious.. loved coming when it was bauhinia.. just as nice now.. if not better!! having eaten at fat duck, Gordon Ramsay, claridges, Brian turner, this place is up there with them.. cannot fault it. Keep it up!! Delicious.!! Set menu with salt n pepper sharing platter, duck, main of choice, coffee n ice cream.. £26 each. Well worth it! Well priced. 10/10. Plus one!! And we live around the corner!!
