What a brilliant morning we had at the Christmas Tree Festival! Such fantastic displays and for wonderful causes. Our favourites were the Remembrance Tree and the Snowman Tree. The children were so well-behaved and we had some wonderful comments from the residents of Sudbury :)

We had a lovely time visiting the Christmas tree festival in Sudbury this morning. The children enjoyed looking at the tree's, lights and listening to the carol singers!

We had a lovely afternoon exploring Poplar Nurseries today! After decorating our Christmas tree yesterday Yumbo is ready and excited for Christmas! 🎅🏼 ☃️ 🦌 🎁 🎄

Having lots of fun! Learning how to balance and control our gross motor movements.

More fun today with our Yumbo children, learning all about what happens to all those lovely strawberries we picked on the farm during the summer and how they are made into Jam. Learning through real life experiences. Developing personal social and emotional skills and understanding the world.

This morning some of our children explored the gardens to find some natural resources to make reindeers! The children thoroughly enjoyed this & were proud of the finished products! 🍁 🦌

Letters to Santa 🎅🏼 This week the children have spent time writing letters to Santa through the wonderful Royal Mail Santa service. Once they were finished the children went to our local post office to buy a stamp and send off their letters! They were so excited! We feel it’s so important for everyday activities to be implemented into our routine & this one was thoroughly enjoyed! #royalmail

Yummy snowflake biscuit making & decorating! The children really enjoyed talking about the shapes and weighing the ingredients checking if they had the right numbers on the scales to the recipe! So much learning! 🍪 ⭐️

Acorns have been making some reindeer food this morning so santa will know how to find our house! A fun activity which supports pouring and filling containers - a very important life skill! 🍲

Yesterday we went on an Elf hunt. The children really enjoyed trying to find them all. We spent time recognising the numbers and letters on each of the Elves posters and their festive names! Braintree District Council Thank you for setting up a lovely activity!

Today, a group of our Yumbo Children have been to Hollytrees Museum.
We had a fantastic time exploring childhood through the Victorian Era - dressing up a maids & servants, cooking on a range, using a mangle and playing with lots of lovely wooden toys!

Today our children from Pinecones Room had fun exploring Braintree Museum with Jade & Natalie. Learning all about the local area and role-playing in the old classroom. Fantastic fun whilst developing skills across multiple areas of the EYFS :)

They also have been baking Pudsey Biscuits this week and today have learnt some Makaton Signs, in a non-verbal communication game!

Another wonderful afternoon spent at Abbeyfield Residential Home yesterday :)

The staff and children in Pinecones Room had a fantastic day out at South Weald today! Visiting the deer, feeding the ducks and finding Stickman!

Our Yumbo children from the acorns room had a fantastic time exploring the museum this morning. They enjoyed burning for treasure, exploring how bikes used to look and much more!

My son started in October 2017 and loves it, everyday he asks to go to nursery. They are always going on trips and walks to the park. He learns so much and loves the staff. I couldn't rate it enough. Excellent nursery.

My son settled into nursery at Yumbo very quickly and has grown/developed so much since joining. The nursery is an integral part of his routine and he absolutely loves it.

Personally the best thing about Yumbo that makes them stand out from the rest is there ability to communicate very effectively with the parents and the children.

Not only have they been amazing at supporting my child but they have gone extra miles to support me as a parent and I honestly can't thank them enough.

Would highly recommend!

My son has been going to yumbo's since January 2016 as I was unhappy with his previous place and he absolutely loves it, he has grown and learnt so much since being there I'm very impressed , we will be sad when he leaves to go to school in September, I would recommend this nursery all day long, the staff are wonderful and very helpful and understanding, they've become an extended family . �

My son has been at the setting for almost two years now and really loves it. They go on regular outings to forest schools, library, public gardens and swimming. The nursery is family orientated and aim to support both the children and their parents.

My son has attended a nursery since last year. As a parent I am really happy with the progress he made in a setting. Whatever he learnt will benefit in a future. I am proud with Robert language skills as English was his second language and at the moment he understand everything and speaks fluent. I know he likes a nursery a lot and made a great connection with all the teacher and friends he made. It will be sad to leave you but I can reccomend you to anyone and I am so thanful for what you have done to my boy and us during last year

My son attends the nursery and has an absolutely fabulous time. He settled quickly into the relaxed atmosphere, enjoys all the activities especially being outside in the lovely garden area. Staff are always helpful and very quick to reassure any issues that arrise they always show the upmost care for the children.

I highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

My daughter loves it there, they have always worked well with me as a parent and understand the stresses and strains of leaving your child.



My daughter has progressed so much, she learns from the other children, and when we go out now she loves to make friends, which is great considering she isn't even 2.5 yet.

My daughter has attended yumbo since she was 17 months old and has absolutely loved her time so far. She has developed into a daring, bright and kind little lady and yumbo have been very supportive of our needs. My older daughter also attended just before she went to school and also loved going, particularly on trips such as forest school and the gruffalo trail. Would highly recommend this nursery, they truly care about their children and I know my daughter loves her key worker dearly. Xx

My daughter Zaara start Yumbo in April 2017. Since then her speech and come really far. Also Yumbo take the children out for day. When I don’t Drive it’s helps she I know my daughter getting more for her development. The staff are lovely and got such a passion for children.
