As most of you are aware, costs for businesses have increased since late 2016. Despite our suppliers increasing their prices we have kept ours the same.
But, we have come to the tough decision to increase our prices for the first time ever since we opened back in 2014 by 20p per menu item effective from 1st August 2018. It ensures we continue to provide you the best food and service we possibly can going forward.

Just an update about where we are with the refurb.
Pretty much everything that we wanted done inside has been completed except for a few bits here and there.
... The other major bit was the roof. This requires replacement and can only be done when the weather is good and it is not something that can be rushed unfortunately.
We've received a lot of messages about when we are reopening and all we can say at the moment is very soon! (No good I know!). We are very happy that you have not forgotten about us and we are all very excited to tear down that paper wall behind the windows to reveal a fresher and more modern Yumee!
Something slightly off topic to the refurb that we thought can be addressed here. We've received messages/rumours again about us relocating and/or setting up another restaurant/takeaway in the local area. Both of these are completely false and we are fully committed to our current locations.
As some of you may know we are under the same ownership as Han Court in Fremington. However, we DO NOT have any other links to any other restaurants or takeaways in North Devon. Again, as some of you may know, Han Court was one week away from being leased out in May, but unfortunately the tenants pulled out. It has delayed Dannys retirement plans but he is more than happy to continue running Han Court!
Ok, back to Yumee. We will post on here as soon as we know a reopening date and we hope to see you all very soooooooooon!!!

Hello,
I thought this would be over by now and everyone would understand our position and reasons for our actions, but I've had several customers wanting to know what actually happened. Therefore, I would appreciate your time in reading this post about Yumee and recent developments, because our reputation has been tarnished for no reason. We take food hygiene very seriously and providing a safe food environment is one of our top priorities.
Recent news about Yumee has been ci...rculating social media with particular interest in our refuse. A picture was taken at the rear of the premises and certain individuals jumped to negative conclusions without knowing the context. I understand that something like this might raise concerns but in the future, please come to me first if you have anything you wish to discuss regarding Yumee.
The fish which was placed near the bin was destined only for one place - the bin. It was not something that was going to be eaten, but instead was being prepared to be thrown away in its own securely tied bin liner. Disposing of a perishable product like fish needs to be done correctly to avoid contamination. However, an untimely photo was taken when the fish was temporarily hung up to avoid touching any surfaces. Once other refuse and a suitable bin liner was prepared it was all securely thrown away. Treating this fish in particular as something that was edible never crossed our minds. Fish is also not something we have on our menu and is not an ingredient we use in any of our dishes.
We welcomed the health inspectors the following day and they reported no further action will be taken, therefore Yumee retaining a 5* hygiene rating.
I hope this settles any confusion about Yumee and again, please come to me first if you have anything you wish to discuss about how we operate.

Love the food here and I have never had a problem with service of any kind. My only moan is that for the amount we normally spend it would be nice to have a bag of the prawn crackers thrown in as the other places do. Slightly more expensive than others I have found and smaller portions but the payoff is it's nicer tasting. Staff always seem happy and the place looks clean .

Just had an amazing take away delivered to our holiday cottage delivered before time stated and nice and hot and very very tasty ����

Had my first takeaway from yumee yesterday (yes a bit slow to try new places!). I won't be having a Chinese from anywhere else now. Thought the no msg thing would be a bit of a gimmick but definitely can taste the difference. Food great, staff friendly what more can you ask for?

Had an amazing takeaway tonight, food was delicious, service excellent and friendly, (no msg) yayyyy a big plus for me.... Will be back again...:)

Sometimes takes a while, but its all freshly cooked, so that's to be expected, and its well worth the wait

Decided to try Yumee as had been disappointed a few times with our usual takeaway. A lovely lady on the phone took our order, waited about an hour and then a pleasant chappie turned up with our food. Was very pleased and will be using again.

Brilliant! In past I've read reviews and still been unsure but honestly what great service! Ordered on a Saturday night about 7.30 ish for 4 people. Starters and mains! Thougt it woukd be within the hour. There was a knock at 7.50 and there was our take away! So tasty! Thank you ☺

BEST CHINESE EVER! Really delicious fresh food, lovely friendly staff who are always happy to help, clearly very busy as you're under popular demand! Won't go anywhere else for a takeaway.

Amazing!!!.... sums it up from start to finish. We just ordered a deliver over the phone. The young lady that took my call was extremely polite, well spoken and couldn't do enough to help and when she didn't know exactly my location I got handed over to the driver and again he was very polite and professional. The food was insane... we had special chow main, sweet and sour chicken balls, BBQ spare ribs and Crispy shredded beef. I love Chinese I will defiantly be using them again. Should of taking names as the service was outstanding. Many thanks to the staff at yumee.

Amazing food and really quick! Literally never waited more than 40 mins for it to be delivered, always arrives piping hot and is so so tasty! Will never go to another Chinese takeaway locally again! Love it! :)

Just had an order from Yumees Chinese for 7 of us absolutely fantastic food, best Chinese I've ever tasted, well worth the journey from the West Midlands and we have all had a great time in Bideford and that meal finished off the Holiday perfectly. Well done to all the staff at Yummys
