February Sewing Retreat 2020 I thought you'd like to see some photos of our latest sewing retreat. We had such a great time...lots of sewing...of course....cake, chat, laughter and time in the hot tubs...mum and I even snuck in a wonderful early morning hot tub session and watched the sun come up! We had all weathers...sleet, rain, hail, wind and sunshine, but none of that deterred us from our sewing!..We even had an amazing double rainbow! Amongst the items made this weekend... were a whale and a snail (!!), a pair of jeans, knickers, a pinafore dress, a jersey top, children's clothes, a knitted dress, PJ bottoms etc....we were all very productive! Thank you ladies for yet another fab retreat...see you at the next one!

It's Friday, it's raining....but that isn't going to put us off...we're all packed up and ready to head off to our sewing retreat this weekend. Whoooooo Hooooo! Hours and hours of sewing, a crackling log fire, delicious food, lots of cake, comfy beds, squashy sofas, bubbling hot tubs...what more could you want? Mum has been busy in the kitchen baking delicious desserts and meals..the aga has been working overtime! I have been beetling away at making handmade cards..one for e...ach lady attending... goody bags and a small handmade pressie.....sorry if you're coming today...the photos might spoil the surprise!
Sad to be missing out? You can now book for 2021 on the website...March and November are already looking pretty full for 2021 so don't wait too long!

NEW Workshop. Freemotion Embroidery and applique
Join us at our beautiful sewing retreat location to learn how to use your sewing machine to draw on fabric to create beautiful panels that can be used to make an apron, 30 cm lampshade (frames can be purchased from me) or child's poncho.

I have some VERY exciting news... As all my sewing retreats are now booked up for the year (except for two spaces in October)I'm exploring the idea of running a fab mid week...Monday to Thursday... sewing retreat in April? I may have been very quiet over Christmas but that doesn't mean that I wasn't beavering away making presents for my lovely family! So...Ta Dah!!! Here are the 3 scrumptious (well I think so!!) ponchos that I made for my gorgeous granddaughters. It was such a pleasure to sew these all the while thinking of the lovely littlies who were going to receive them...lots of love and hugs went into making them!!
I found I had some home dyed blankets in my stash that I used for the mai...n body of the poncho...and then, (well, you know my love of freemotion embroidery), I went to town with cute applique and lots of freemotion stitching!!
Very sadly though, despite saying they had delivered it, (which they hadn't as my son was in all day) the Post Office lost the bunny poncho...to say that I was upset is an understatement :( It's irreplaceable....*sob*
On a happier note....would anyone like a workshop to be able to make one of these? Send me a message or comment below and I'll see what I can do.

I've had a fabulous day today teaching two lovely ladies how to use their sewing machines for freemotion embroidery and then making these stunning aprons! Gallons of tea and lots of cake was consumed, the fire crackled quietly in the corner and the sewing machines whirred away....Happy happy day! Xxx

It's raining outside but inside the fire is alight in the woodburner, the kettle is on, the candles are burning and I'm ready for our fab apron workshop today. Xx
