Hello everyone, trust you have all been busy doing what you all do best in all your various sectors, in line with my value adding service to SME’s – below are a few nuggets from Zed^0 Consulting on sure ways to ensure you remain on top and firmly focused and with your goal firmly within your sights.
- Provide Fanatical Customer Service – Respond quickly to clients. If you don’t take care of your customers, someone else will. Strive to give clients more than they expect. Your... clients will notice because plenty of companies don’t go the extra mile. Happy clients are your evangelists and make the best marketing advocates for future business.
- You can’t have all the business, and you don’t want all the business.
- Don’t go into business with your friends or family. If you need to have partners, have silent non-managing partners so you can have your vision without having anyone in your way.
- Embrace failure. Have the courage to take risks and grow by learning from your successes and failures. Winston Churchill noted that “success is the ability to move from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” Let’s face it, our greatest lessons often come from those things that did not work. Don’t hide the experience- embrace it!
- Be sure to have a very good bookkeeper and or accountant! I see so many entrepreneurs who still want to maintain their own books but the cost to have an expert take care of this time consuming task, is well worth the price and will save you from small, yet costly mistakes.
- Patiently work hard, be honest, make good product, and trust that success will follow.
- Be as prepared as possible and plan several months or a year out. Try to imagine the best and worst case scenarios, and plan accordingly.
Feel free to add any more you think of....

Today, i am going to share a nugget on Accountability and Small Businesses...
One of the most phenomenally simple critical success factors for operating a thriving business revolves around the notion that “where your time and efforts go, so to goes your company.”
Accountability - It's like looking at the game plan instead of watching the game. The plan only tells you what should happen; the actual game is the only place you're going to watch the team score.
... But the simple truth is that far too many small business owners live on unoccupied islands all to themselves and fail to create an environment with sufficient structure and accountability – even if they’re surrounded by a stellar group of employees. There is a definitive reason that larger companies utilize board of directors and layers of management – because when we’re left to our own devices, we most likely won’t achieve our greatest potential By fully tracking and measuring accountability, you find where the ball is getting dropped in your processes. It's not always in sales. It could have been fumbled by customer support, by management making a bad decision, or by a simple error in interpreting customer concerns. That's why you need to see the entire interaction of your team, specifically who is doing what, and what the real results were. Being capable of pinpointing exactly what went right, what went wrong and where, is how real accountability is achieved

"When people choose to lead with integrity they position themselves at the top of their industry"...........
Integrity isn’t something easily monetized, but when it’s implemented into a business’s DNA, there is plenty of money to save and the great potential to make more.
It’s easy to overlook the quality of integrity when running a business -- but incorporating it into all of your business dealings and decisions can advance your company to greater levels of success.
... Integrity is synonymous with trust in the business world. After all, clients have to trust the people they do business with to keep them, so owning up to every responsibility is paramount.
The bottom line is consistency. A company needs to maintain what it says it does, and who it says it is. There shouldn't be an external impression of the business that is dramatically different from the internal version.
Especially in rough economic times, to be someone the buying public can trust is priceless. So while it might not seem immediately top on your list, your business can't afford to compromise its integrity in this competitive market.

Happy new week everyone, i need to focus on something that is silently killing small businesses - PROCRASTINATION!
Procrastination is the most expensive invisible cost in business today. It sneaks through the hallways of your company, nearly undetectable, literally stealing tens of thousands of £/$/N from you without anyone even noticing.
The scary part though isn’t what procrastination is businesses; it’s what it’s costing us in our lives.
... How many dreams are lost? How many goals are missed? How many changes in the world are never realized because we were simply wandering around in mindless meandering?.
Take action today, stop putting tasks/goals/objectives off!
