All ages and abilities are welcome - I can teach absolute beginners through to more experienced drummers looking for a fresh approach to the drum kit.

Drum lessons are particularly useful for helping children with maths skills, coordination & concentration, and are also good for building confidence & alleviating stress in both adults & children!

My lessons cover everything you need to achieve your drumming potential and are tailored to suit each student's individual needs – this can include:

Stick control, foot control and applied technique
Styles and musicianship
Independence
Timing and groove
Fills
Reading /interpreting by ear and writing notes for performance
Rudiments
Rockschool & Trinity grades

I can also give advice on equipment, joining a band and anything else drum or music industry related.

Half hour, 1 hour, or 2 hour slots are available, and discounts are provided for block bookings. My rates are very reasonable, and I always make sure lessons are planned to achieve as much progress for the student as possible within the time booked.

The tuition takes place mainly in my North London based studio (near Manor House tube station) but I am willing to travel to student homes if they have the appropriate equipment to facilitate the lessons (travel costs a little extra).

ABOUT ME

My name is Zel and I have over 10 years experience as a music tutor in schools as well as privately. I have been in numerous successful bands and toured internationally with a great deal of experience both live and in the studio.

Fully CRB /DBS checked with current certification, available to present upon request.

I have a Higher Diploma in music and drum performance from London College of Contemporary Music and can teach grades as well as technique, styles & rudiments.

I have previously facilitated free drum workshops for beginners, and have taught groups of up to 20 people the basics of drumming within a matter of hours.

All styles can be taught, but I specialise in rock, alternative, pop, punk, hip-hop, afro-beat & heavy music.
