Exercise is a powerful depression fighter for several reasons. Most importantly, it promotes all kinds of changes in the brain, including neural growth, reduced inflammation, and new activity patterns that promote feelings of calm and well-being. It also releases endorphins, powerful chemicals in your brain that energize your spirits and make you feel good. https://buff.ly/2I8XuTv #exercise #depression #anxiety #stress #calm

Over time, a person’s spinal vertebrae and the cartilage between these vertebrae can start to wear down. This can result in back pain and discomfort as we age. But if you’re a senior who experiences back pain, you don’t have to resort to a sedentary lifestyle. Instead, you can perform gentle exercises to maintain flexibility and strength in your spine. https://buff.ly/2JxTj48 #backpain #exercise #vertebrae #discomfort

if you need support ask for it as that is what we're here for. We hand hold a lot of the people that we work with so that they can move forward through whatever it is that they're trying to achieve.

During your pregnancy, your pelvic floor muscles will loosen due to hormonal changes in your body. This loosening, along with your growing baby pressing on your bladder, may cause you to leak urine when you cough, laugh, sneeze or exercise.

Lower back ache can be overcome or controlled by regular exercises to strengthen the muscles that support your back -- especially the abdominals, hips, back, and pelvic area. These exercises strengthen core muscles and relieve the ache. https://buff.ly/2FoeK5c #backache #exercise #core #muscles #zigsexercise

My biggest result has probably been putting on half a stone. My aim of working with Claire was to put on some weight and over an 8 week period she has helped me to do that and arranged my eating patterns. I've started eating breakfast and... just generally looking after myself better than I was.

The government recommends weaning at six months, following guidance from the World Health Organisation. However, some people do choose to start weaning before then if they feel their baby isn't getting enough from milk. Always talk to your GP or health visitor if you decide to wean before six months.

Here’s a foody tip from us if you’ve been advised to change your saturated fat, high sugar or salt content in what you eat for health reasons. Look out on food labelling for the red, green or amber code. The greener the healthier of course! Read more at... https://www.nhs.uk/live-…/eat-well/how- to-read-food-labels/…

Exercise can reduce the risk of hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis in seniors. Further, exercise improves balance to avoid injury and helps maintain cognitive function. Exercise is not without its risks, and seniors should check with their doctors for exercise recommendations and restrictions.

Today's video tip is all about Posture. It's really common especially with things like back pain, knee issues and hip stiffness that posture is something that you'll need to change in order to help your injuries reduce and for you to free up stiffness and feel more energized!

Following these tips will make you feel better and fend off cramps and stiffness during a long flight. I do have one big caveat though: you really have to do these exercises. I say this because the biggest impediment to health in general is not “not knowing” what to do; it’s actually remembering to do the exercises.

When stress affects the brain, with its many nerve connections, the rest of the body feels the impact as well. Or, if your body feels better, so does your mind. Exercise and other physical activity produce endorphins — chemicals in the brain that act as natural painkillers — and also improve the ability to sleep, which in turn reduces stress. https://buff.ly/2DOY719 #exercise #anxiety #depression #endorphins #zigsexercise

a great couple who do great things with mums, dads and children.

User

The team are really dedicated to helping you achieve your goal whether it's to tone up, boost confidence or improve your flexibility and make the effort to ensure everyone is not made to feel uncomfortable. I love it here it's become like a family.

User

The Zigs team are so well organised and Clare is one of the most knowledgable personal trainers and instructors I've met. She really knows her stuff! Top marks!

User

Never thought I'd love the feeling of a hard workout. But, thanks to you guys; I'm addicted to the feeling of my ache!

Thanks so much for helping me keep going with pole!

I'm looking forward to next term and being able to do as many classes as I like!

User

My first pole school that helped me to fall in love with pole dancing. Brilliant teachers and a great group of girls (and guys!) x

User

Loving my classes at Zigs, especially the yoga/pilates combo on a Friday with Kelly-Ann. Sorry Claire, your pilates class is great too and I'm really feeling the benefits, I just love my Friday stretch, core and relaxation session - it's a fab end to a busy week :)

User

Love it here! I now do Pilates, yoga and my favourite love of all pole which makes u so toned and strong! I can book whatever classes i feel like that week!

User

Joining Zigs has been a life changing move for me... I have been educated, encouraged, supported, guided and pampered, I’ve 100% thouroghtly enjoyed every single session with Claire and her team.

I have endless confidence in there attention to detail, knowledge and professionalism and very much looking forward to the future 💗🏃🏻‍♀️

User

I've been struggling with back pain before I start with them & working with them help me to reduce it. I would recommend them :)

User

I'm proud to be one of the coaches at Zigs and have spent the last couple of years working with Clare and the team to help people move better and feel better. I have seen many clients work towards and achieve their goals with the expert guidance in the studio, and it's great to see people get the support that they need. The combination of Pilates methods, personal training and yoga techniques really help to improve mobility, strengthen the body, increase flexibility and help with weight loss where needed - and all in the comfort of a lovely private studio! I'd recommend Zigs to anyone looking for those aspects to help them better their bodies! <3

User

I have been training with Zigs for 3 years since slipping two discs having my second child. On my first session I could hardly walk let alone touch my toes! With Clare's help I have built my core strength up and repaired my body to a level that I now rarely have pain and I am training for my third half marathon this year. I cannot thank her enough for her endless enthusiasm and perseverance in training me. We are still working on loosing the last bit of weight but she is full of suggestions and ideas. I wholeheartedly recommend Zigs especially if you are suffering from back pain, chronic or acute. Pain free is possible!

p.s. Training with Zigs is not a cheap option however the personal plans and one to one care are bespoke, tailored directly to your injury which a more general class is not. Personally the investment I have made, time and cost, in repairing my back has enabled me to return to work, be a active and healthy parent and improve my mental health.

User

I enjoy having a massage once a month. A great way to unwind and work out any tense or tight areas!

User

Friendly, fun atmosphere. Great , fun way to gain confidence and tone up :)

User

Clare and the team are fantastic! Thank you so much for welcoming me back to Pilates and allowing me to attend twice a week from 14 weeks to my last class today at nearly 38 weeks pregnant! You have been so patient and understanding and have seriously helped me to get into shape for pregnancy and child birth. Being able to attend "normal" Pilates was really important for me - a bump class didn't appeal and it was great to get to know other pupils knowing I'll see them back at Zigs in the summer! Getting this far with barely any problems isn't just luck - it's the power of Zigs! I'll be back later in the year to tone up this tummy! Thank you so much!

User

Claire and the Zigs Team have been so knowledgeable and supportive of me as I aimed to get in control of my health and wellbeing. They have always been so helpful and have an abundance of ideas and resources to inspire people to make positive lifestyle changes.

Pressurized sales techniques!

User

I was very disappointed with the way in which ziggs operate. The first complimentary session was informative and although I felt Claire was quite pushy thought it might be good to get back into shape etc.

It was from the second complimentary session and subsequent dealings that have led me to this review.

The second session started with Claire showing us two videos of clients she had worked with - which is fine but they are available on their website - so we could have done that ourselves.

Next she went through the pricing structure and more client testimonials - basically reading word for word from the sheet.

Throughout the whole session, she kept emphasising that if we signed up there and then we would get a feee massage and we could cancel within two weeks.

At the end of the session, we were asked which day we would like to train on. I advised that I would need to discuss with my husband as being on maternity leave our finances were quite stretched. Her response was quite abrupt telling me to ring him there and then - which I would not do as 1) he was at work and 2) I didn’t want to discus my finically situation in front of her and I felt very pushed to sign up as again she said I could sign up and cancel once I’d spoken to my husband.

I understand that some people need a bit of a push - but this was to me very rude. She then went into say that her and her husband put themselves into debt while she was in maternity leave - as if to say it was ok to do.

Throughout the following few days, I can only say I was bombarded by emails from them - despite the fact that the new GDPR regulations were being implemented and no where had I actively opted in to receiving emails and I wasn’t a customer.

I had also advised friends, who I had recommended from the first session, of the costs involved - which for group class sessions are astronomical- especially if targeting those on maternity leave and therefore have a very limited budget. They tried to cancel and were bombarded by emails that were leading on the side of emotional blackmail.

I also happened to speak to a friend, who had been on maternity leave 4 years previously who had come across this business, and had also had a similar pushy experience and were surprised they were still in business.

To give Claire her due, when she rang once I had spoken to my husband to see if I wanted to sign up and I asked to no longer be contacted I have not.

I wasn’t going to leave a review as I felt if people wanted to afford their prices that is up to them, however, my husband felt that people needed to know of the pushy sales tactics - which some people would not be strong enough to say no to and wrote a review which has since disappeared.

It might be worth taking a look at the advertising standards authority code of conduct for guidance on how to ‘sell’ your product to people as currently you are coming into breach of pressurised sales.

I wish everyone who trains with them good luck with your fitness and hope you achieve your goals - as ultimately that is what everyone wants
