Zizzi

Booked for lunch on Sunday for me and 5 family members. Place was relatively quiet when we arrived and we placed our order. Kids starters arrived after a while and kids enjoyed it. The place filled up pretty quickly soon after. Once we noticed a table that had arrived after us had had their starters and main I enquirer how long ours was. The waitress explained it was on its way. After a second query we had to ask for the manager who tried to explain the kitchen was busy but couldn’t explain why our order was late (we’d been waiting an hour, the other large table who’s had a starter, main and left had only waited 30 mins). Really poor service from what was a really nice chain. Won’t be eating at Zizzi in Meadowhall again. Would have given 1 star except for the 50% off as an apology.

Great service and delicious food, couldn't have had a more pleasant experience!

Very busy at the time, but that shouldn't be an excuse for our experience. I ordered the chicken and mushroom risotto which arrived looking like grey gruel and no chicken. This was replaced and returned with a small amount of chicken, still grey and tasteless! My wife had lasagne which was overcooked and very salty. The cheesecake was dry and crumbly which i chased around the dish with just a spoon and no napkin supplied to wipe up after. Overall poor food and poor value for what we got!

So, we are in Sheffield to watch a gig so stop off to one of our favourite chain restaurants. Beating the rush we was sat down, fairly empty at this point. We sat for about 15/20mins waiting to be served however, watched 2 more tables seated after us and served. I had to wave down the same waiter 3 before he bothered to walk over to take our order (he look at me and wanted to walk on). Count another 15mins later where I had to wave down another waiting to ask where the drinks where (2x diet cokes). Our starters arrived when another 2 tables seated around us. Finished our starters fairly quickly, watched 4 waiters including the manager walk pass our table numerous times without clearing our starters. An hour since we sat down, the 4 tables around us, including a table of 4, which sat down after us were all digging into their main. It took me waving the manager before anyone took notice of us. (Note: we are sat right in the middle pass where everyone walks). She then ask who our waiter was, in which she realised we didn't have anyone. So, everyone ignored us because most the waiters were gathered around each other chatting and didn't want to take the table. Manager did make it up to us but by far the worst service I have ever come across in a restaurant, to the point where I download TripAdvisor while sat waiting for our food just to write this review

Vegan pizzas are OK. Nothing special

Absolutely lovely staff. Really accommodating to pram, excellent allergen menu and a member of staff even brought me a glass of water while I was breastfeeding. Anyone who has ever breastfed knows how lovely that is. I would 100% go back again.

It's a Zizzi's not the Ritz but the food was good value and the service was great even though it was very busy. Can't ask for much else!
