Zizzi

Excellent and efficient service. Well prepared and presented food.

Haven't been to zizzi in quite a while since today. Was a great three course meal with better service. Our waitress was super attentive and was great fun to chat with. The food was great with a large choice selection on the menu.

Went there on Tuesday 21/11/2017 around 3:15pm. First time ever to walk in Zizzi, ordered the pizza which was delicious, the chef did a great job. But the waiter was so awkward, never smiled, never checked how we found the pizzas.
Then when we went to pay again he didn't ask if we enjoyed the food, didn't ask how we'd like to pay, just billed my friends card the full amount with a straight face like he was annoyed to work there.

Service wasn't great that day

We had dinner on a very busy week day evening and the food was well cooked and well presented. Service was pleasant and our waitress had an engaging manner. We shall definitely return to Zizzi.

Went here first about 7 years ago when I moved to Colchester. It was fantastic, and it continued to be over the next few years. Somewhere in 2015 and early this year it lost its way with the customer service aspect. We came across some really rude waitresses and waiters who frankly, it seemed, didn't want us dining there at all. On one particular occasion when we were (finally) seated we ended up getting back up and walking out - the one and only time we have ever done that and we eat out A LOT! This poor, rude service happened on more than one occasion and eventually we decided never to go back and waste our time again.

This evening we went back here for the first time in pretty much 2 years. Mainly because I have recently turned vegan and Zizzi's have one of the best vegan offerings out of any of the mainstream high street restaurant chains. Anyway, to cut a long story short, the service was brilliant and the food was amazing, despite it being horrendously busy presumably due to school holidays. I forgot to get the name of the waitress who served us but she was exemplary and for that she received a significant gratuity. Zizzi's Colchester have won me back, for now. My 5 stars are thus based on my most recent experience and it will be updated as and when accordingly.

Good food selection, and the food tasted great. Service was a little slow. With two hen parties, that could have been planned better.

Food was nice but expensive. Not much of an atmosphere but the rest of my family liked it, probably because they didn't have to pay for it...

Great helpful staff with a good vegetarian / vegan menu and yummy pizza to boot

I like Zizzi's because it is family-friendly and has a great kids' menu. When you arrive they give your children a pot of crayons and a drawing to colour in. The food is pretty decent, especially the pizza, and the lamb meatballs "al forno" is highly recommended.
The only problem is that due to the very high ceiling (think it used to be an auction house or something), the noise level gets pretty high even when it's not even that busy (we went at 5.30pm on a Friday).

Food was fantastic cooked to perfection and very tasty. Staff really helpful especially the lovely lady who waited on my table. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, We have eaten here on 5 occasions and never been disappointed .
