Loving the wildlife we've attracted into our garden since we stopped mowing the lawn. The goldfinches come every morning and evening for the knapweed seeds and the cinnabar moth caterpillar are working their way through the ragwort.
This came up on my memories from 2 years ago! Before weβd ever thought of opening our garden for the NGS π±πΈ
We've had a brilliant two days welcoming visitors to our open garden this weekend and this morning was our final day of opening for our guests from the Wigston U3A who visited ours and Chris and Janet's on Gladstone Street.
Many thanks to all who came and spent time with us, we met loads of lovely people and received loads of positive comments about our garden.
Massive thanks for all the baking to Fay, Amye, Alison, Helen, Sharon and Yvonne. It seems people come for the cake... as much as they come to see the garden! Also, thanks to Emily for her fantastic poster and fact sheet about bees and Eva Crane.
Total raised for the National Garden Scheme's beneficiaries over the weekend and this morning from entrance fees, refreshments and generous donations is . . . . . . Β£403.10

Thank you very much to Tesco South Wigston for your very kind donation. Iβve been putting the baking ingredients to good use this afternoon and Iβve now got enough milk for teas and coffees and cold drinks to keep our visitors hydrated π°βοΈ
Loving my rusty red squirrel from Rusty Rooster - Metal Garden Art, so pleased he's arrived in time for our first NGS open garden at the weekend :-)
5 days to go . . . . .
Thank you very much to Asda Oadby for your very kind donation. Iβd best bake some scones to go with all of that jam :-) π
