The Rex In Ventnor

The Chef is on holiday and Abdel is relaxing at last! So we are closed until next Thursday 22nd Nov. The good news is we're redecorating to freshen up before reopening for the Christmas season. See you all again soon. X

On a Saturday night, tonight, the Rex was visited .... and won a coveted 5 stars food hygiene certificate. Unbeatable!

Whilst Abdel is rattling around cleaning everything in sight, behaving like master Meercat pretending not to miss his mate... Ricardo sends photos from Cape Town and as usual is never stopping smiling. Don't worry - they'll be back in operation soon, with new items on the menu in March here in lal Ventnor's great Rex.

Well, Abdel went to Chester for a few days. We actually got him to take a break! He's come back declaring that English 2 AA Rosette food is beautifully prepared and served but Italian food is much tastier!!!! Go Abdel..... glad you worked that one out!!!!!

We've been tasting Chef Ricardo's new menu items recently. Delicious. Looking forward to adding them to the menu when he comes back from his holidays in March.

Time for Chef Ricardo to take a bit of a holiday before the season starts again. Sunday 22 and Monday 23rd January he is off celebrating a birthday in the Balti Capital Birmingham so the kitchen is closed but you are always welcome to pop in for coffee or drinks with Abdel. Then on 16th February Chef goes to some very hot sunny country until he reopens his kitchen back at The Rex in Ventnor for service on the 3rd March. He deserves it!!!! He has done amazing this past year. Don't forget he IS DEFINITLY HERE FOR VALENTINES NIGHT for you all!

Just popped up to say we've been so busy we forgot to post anything recently! Its been hot work but great fun looking after everybody in this hot spell of summer and we're so pleased that Ricardo's cooking is bringing many back here several times a week! If we sit down we will seize up, so keep on coming and we hope to make you welcome!!
