1st Place provides early education and support to local families with children under five in Southwark.

1st Place is a Sure Start Children and Parent’s Centre committed to supporting local families with children under the age of 5 years old.

The centre was developed with the support of local parents and offers early education including full daycare as well as sessional funded places for 2 and 3 year old children.
1st Place Children and Parents’ Centre also provides a wide range of free services that support children’s early learning and development, as well as parenting courses and training for parents to ensure that children get the best start in life and reach their full potential.
Our purpose built centre is located in Burgess Park, and our sister nurseries 1st Place at Cambridge House and 1st Place at Lorrimore Square, are located in close proximity. We also offer services at Bishops House Children’s Centre in Kennington. 1st Place’s early education is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and all services are designed taking into account the needs of the local community.
