Afewee Brixton Description
Our History:
Afewee was co-founded by Steadman Scott & Tony Goldring in 1997.
We are sports organisation based at the Brixton Recreation Centre and have worked with the area’s boys and girls since its establishment delivering football and more recently boxing.
Afewee strives above all else to uplift its youngsters and uses its long experience to help them avoid the pitfalls of living in the inner city, develop self-confidence and follow their dreams.
Afewee’s serious-minded, no-nonsense style of football coaching has earned it a reputation for producing disciplined and skilfull young players. Afewee trainees are found in all the London Premiership academies, most notably England international Nathaniel Clyne, who started his career as an Afewee boy.
Partnerships:
Working with Lambeth Council and the Centre’s leisure operators GLL, Afewee is now providing boxing training for all at the Recreation Centre. Starting with sessions for children and adults, boys and girls alike.
Brixton has always celebrated boxing stars when they visit: Afewee believes it is now time for Brixton to produce one of its own!

Sundays 10am-11am
Tuesdays 4: 30pm-5: 30pm

JUNIOR CLUB (11-16yrs)
Sundays 11am-12: 30pm
Tuesdays 5: 30pm-7pm
Thursdays 5: 30pm-7pm
£2 per class or £5 for the week
BOXFIT ADULT
Tuesdays 7pm-8: 30pm
Satursdays 11am-12pm

BOXING TECHNIQUE ADULT
Mondays 7pm-8: 30pm

This Saturday (20th October) the Ritzy Cinema in Brixton will be showing a short documentary on Afewee Football Academy by Brixton filmmakers Ray McFarlane and Patrick Steel.
‘Tough Love is an access-all-areas look at local grassroots Brixton football club, Afewee, and the unorthodox but proven training style of coach Steadman Scott’.
The screening will be followed by a Live Q&A with Steadman Scott and the filmmakers, chaired by Dr Lizzy Attree.
