Arc-In-Form Architects Limited is a Chartered Architects Practice in Colchester, with a portfolio of successfully completed private residential projects.

The practice is led by Justin Smith, a Certified Passivhaus Designer, an architect with a passion for Passivhaus and a keen interest in reducing climate change through low energy buildings. We are committed to low energy, Passivhaus and Retrofit projects. Our residential projects include small sites with multiple houses, complicated extensions, renovations, refurbishments, conversions, and energy-efficient dwellings. We have worked on listed buildings, in conservation areas, city centres, the suburbs and green belt.

Every project large or small, incorporates Passivhaus “Fabric First principles”, whether that be an extension, or a new build. We are committed to helping our clients maximise their opportunity of low energy design, reducing operational and lifetime cost in every project we do. Our work enhances daylight, sunlight and space in every building we design.

The CarbonLite Certified Passivhaus Designer course highlighted the energy performance gap in the UK, which we are keen to close through careful design, detailing and quality assessment on site during construction.
