After many years working in the hospitality industry and growing tired of the inhospitable hours it was time for a major career over haul.
Having a keen interest in furniture and design I was lucky enough to find a comprehensive 2 year course at The school of Stuff in Dalston with the amazing Amanda Girling Budd in 2009. Four years later and the upholstery bug is still as infectious as when I first started.

After learning the foundations of the traditional techniques I nagged and nagged until finally I wore down various upholsterers in the area until they agreed to let me make them tea and eventually work on some chairs.

Again with my acute nagging skills I finally convinced my old company Mothership London to let me come and upholster their fabulous Ercol Suites, make curtains for their draughty basement and remake their cushion pads that customers loved so much they just had to have them (yes, they were stolen! )

Last April I joined forces with dynamic design duo Shai Akram and Andrew Haythornthwaite as their assistant on another of Mothership’s projects on Broadway Market called “Stories” where I upholstered as many things as I was allowed to.
I made a series of wall hangings designed by Shai and Andrew with incredible textiles from Bute Fabrics. I also made all of the covers for the cushion pads and worked with the foam company to custom design the foam for the perfect squish factor.
I have also completed work for The Lexington Bar in Angel, Long White Cloud Café in Hackney and The Lost Society in Battersea. I am currently working on a project for The Maze Bar in Southgate.

I also work on private commissions and restore and upholster furniture that I sell online.
