I started making Paracord leads and collars just after we got Alfie, our Wire Fox Terrier.
Any one who knows a WFT will know that when they are off their lead, they don't always come back!
I was looking for a strong piece of cord to tie to his collar when he was off his lead so that I could stand on it to stop him running off again.
I found Paracord 550.
Cobra weave leads are very strong but are comfortable to use - Paracord doesn't create friction burns if your dog suddenly pulls on the lead.
Each 4 foot lead uses 50 feet of Paracord. The cord is woven around a centre core which runs right through the lead from the hook and around the handle. The handle won't unravel as it is woven back into the lead.
A 'King Cobra' or double cobra weave can be used for larger dog collars and a pleated lead with cobra handle is excellent for small dogs. Both of these options can be seen in the photo gallery.
Options available? It's up to you! I can make a Cobra lead up to 12 feet long and in any 2 colours you would like.

Brilliant day at Woodside Agility in Biggar today. Great to see so many existing Alfie’s Leads customers and meeting some new ones. New sheepskin bungee rings went down well and I’m sure the re-vamped tuggies and flirt poles are going to be a great success. If agility people think they are good, they’re good!! Nat Dowsland, you need to stop inventing new things for Alfie’s Leads. Catching up on Joanne Ramsay now!! Your fleece bungee turned out to be 30 inches long, ultra strong and weighs just 80 grams. Alfie has tested the prototype and liked it so much he took it to bed with him. Yours is in the post 😍😍

Looking forward to taking Alfie’s Leads out for the first time this year! Just finished making this double king cobra collar for an Italian Mastiff. Had to be in the Italian flag colours, I think it worked out really well. It’s just over 2 inches wide and is going to look amazing on the big, black dog. The collar is very unusual and I could only find a couple of people who make them, one in Sweden and one in USA. 4 foot bungee lead, £12 free post in UK This 4 foot bungee lead is available in over 40 colours and has a 20 inch section of twisted cobra which has a double strand of bungee shock cord. It will stretch to just over 5 feet, however, the bottom half of the lead is all paracord and won’t stretch. This gives added security when crossing roads or taking your dog out of the car.
Finally mastered a bungee lead that looks neat!!
This 5 foot lead has a 14 inch twisted cobra section at the top which has a double core of 4mm shock cord. The rest of the lead is all paracord.
I think this is the neatest version so far and it’s the one I’ll list for sale. Only £14.
