Went for LCD, Bjork and Nick Cave days. LCD Friday was brilliant, great line up and party atmosphere, everyone enjoying themselves. Bjork Sunday was okay, but Nick Sunday was the best all round line up, very strong stand out female artists, Nadine Shah, Courtney Barnett, St. Vincent, Brix Smith and of course Patti Smith, not to mention Kylie walk on for Nick Cave before we all joined him on stage, much to the surprise of G4S security. All I can say is good luck with the line up next year, the bar has been set very high.

User

We went to five out of the six big gig days, and loved every second. The line-up alone was unbelievable but I wasn't sure what to expect. I shouldn't have worried: great location, great atmosphere, great organisation, great food, great bars, great portaloos (who knew that was even possible?). The availability of contactless - even at the ice cream vans - made everything quick and convenient but still had the festival vibe. Same for the corporate sponsorship, it was subtle enough not to notice. Hope this becomes an annual event, we would love to come next year.

We came down Sunday 3rd and loved it!!! Great music all day and a good crowd too, security staff great, loos stayed clean and and yes, coming from the midlands the beer was a wee bit more than we are used to paying but to be expected but queuing for drinks organised and no problems, get more IPA next year though!!! Stayed overnight so no problems other than to flop with achey legs and feet into a comfy bed, if we do more days if it's on next year, what a civilised way to do a festival!!! As an older festival goer, ( been doing them since the seventies) this is the way to goxxx

User

Travelled over from West Cork for Sunday's show. Great atmosphere, great crowd. Site was well laid out. No trouble that I was aware of. Very well run and getting out and back to hotel via underground was fast and efficient. Patti was brilliant, Mr. Cave was excellent as expected and Kylie was a surprise!!! Only down side was the queue for the bar, maybe a queuing system would be good like other festivals. Even so, top marks & will defo be on the calendar for next yr!!!

User

Travelled down from Scotland to see Nick Cave. I was impressed by the staff from Mile End to the park. Luckily made the Tube on the return but it was only just. Security staff helpful and pleasant (not always my experience at festivals). Day started well with Richard Strange and culminated in a fantastic end, Patti Smith ( had planned to see St Vincent but glad I didn’t) then Nick & TBS. Food & drink a bit pricey but to be expected. Will definitely return.

Sunday: Nick Cave and Bad Seeds set was amazing. Also impressed with Patti Smith, Nadine Shah, Shame and Baxter Dury especially. Appreciated that the second stage was open air and not in an enclosed tent. Thought the sound was perhaps a bit lost during the Courtney Barnett set - maybe prefer seeing her style of music in a smaller setting though. The programming/set times for this event seemed really well considered and it was pretty easy to get about earlier in the day, zipping from one stage to another before settling at the front for the 3 headline sets.

Was really impressed with the arrangements, security and support staff for this event. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. There was good signage with stage times, good choice of food and drink stalls and plenty of toilets. It can't be easy getting 40,000 odd people, in various states of sobriety, out of that park on to roads with traffic that late at night - I thought this was done really well, especially in comparison with Field Day on the same site in previous years. Getting from front of stage at Nick Cave to the gates in 20 minutes was way better than I had expected and then management of crowd safety on the way to Mile End station was handled well also - I'd made night bus back up plans to make my last train out of London in case I didn't catch the last connecting tube service but the management of the crowds meant I made the train and there were no bottlenecks at the station by the time I got there. I'm sure some people found the wait too long but taking into account the logistics, I was really impressed.

Only room for improvement I would suggest is along the lines that others have mentioned re more water points and allowing people to bring in their own empty water containers - also a deposit scheme for bar drink cups might be more environmentally friendly.

Thanks for all the hard work and attention to detail in putting together such a great event - one very happy and satisfied Nick Cave fan here.

User

Great day (Sunday) and it was mostly well organised with good layout and sound.

Really enjoyed Patti Smith’s set. Absolutely stand out and many people in the exit cue agreeing with us on this.

Some relatively minor carps - no water allowed through security ( fine) but the promised free water was not available without a massive queue. We paid £2 a small bottle to save time but the price was a racket on a very warm day.

Lots of toilets but still very long queues.

Leaving queue meant big delays for all - even if like us you weren’t trying to get to the tube station.

User

Fantastic festival . Really well organised and great line ups. Exits need expanding next year. Great food, great feel, unique atmosphere ....... the addition of the screens is essential for us smaller ones. Exceptional value for money . Not quite sure how you can better it for next year as this the first year was great

User

Excellent festival! Great help from the stewards, great choice and quality of food, plenty of drinks outlets so queuing for both of these were good and plenty of toilet facilities!

Great friendly atmosphere and top quality bands!

Already looking forward to see next years line up!

Thanks to all involved.

User

Excellent festival and very well organised. Extremely impressed with the bar system and plenty of toilets too - only had to queue for max 5 minutes for both. Got into the festival very quick as well. Great sound and brilliant performances from Patti Smith and Nick Cave.

Things to improve - would be more sustainable to let people bring in a refillable bottle of water and their own food if they wish. Could have done with more water taps - I couldn’t face the queues so made do with one bottle. Getting out a bit slow but not sure how else it could have been done as we were being let out in the middle of London.

Thanks for a great day!

User

Arrived for a suitably lairy Baxter Dury on North stage in baking sun. Relaxed athmosphere and upbeat vibe from the 30-40-50 something crowd. Courtney Barnett brought youthful passion to a lively set. Patti Smith was less visceral than previous but just as compelling. Her reading of Ginsberg's Howl was brave as an intro. What followed was real and true and both Minight Oil's Beds are Burning and her own Horses and Pissing in a River were really memorable.

Nick Cave and his Bad Seeds were like a bunch of shamanistic extras from Game of Thrones playing death disco. How scarily compelling the spectre of a 6 foot plus preacher howling in the midst of a storm. From the tenderness of Into your arms to the crowd invasion of Stagger Lee was seamless with a wonderful guest slot from Kylie for Where the wild roses grow.

User

Absolutely amazing festival. Went to all three days last weekend (LCD, The XX and Bjork) and The National yesterday. Real value for money. So many great bands, brilliantly organised. Justice were out of this world. Going through security was quick and easy. A great range of food and drink. I want to eat at these places again! A truly wonderful atmosphere with a very friendly vibe. The acoustics were fab, really clear sound. Plenty of toilets, which were relatively clean given the amount of visitors. The weather was perfect. Can’t wait for next year.

User

Very well organised. Bit chaotic at bag check but otherwise really good. Lots of food choices and plenty of bars so didn’t experience any real queues. Did have to queue for food but not too long. Plenty of space so whilst busy it wasn’t overwhelming or claustrophobic.

Lots of toilets and most seemed to still have toilet paper at the end! Organised on the walk to the tube with Marshall’s pointing the way. Really good atmosphere and perfect weather - although All Points East can’t really claim that! Great event

User

Great bands, well organized. Having so many helpful stewards to and from the tube station offering info and portapotties along the way was great. Also efforts to keep noise down on leaving. Having the road blocked off at the end was a great idea too. Plenty of toilets, relatively clean. A few more water points and picnic tables would be helpful next year. Great selection of food stalls. There was confusion about the timing of bands until we realized there was an app. I think communication about line up and schedule could have been a bit better. Would go again for sure!

User

The good bands were playing at the same time in different stages. When you pay to see blossoms and the hunna it’s a bit dissapointing when you can only see one of them.

The schedules/stages weren’t available online.

People were douchebags. Just kept throwing bottles, and cups with beer, water, wine and juice at each other, hurting people who were just trying to chill while watching the concerts. Where was the security in this?

User

The event was well organised as others have said, and plenty of staff around once you got close. We walked from Canary Wharf, by Mile End we were sure we were going the right way, but in Poplar no one seemed to know where Victoria Park was! My biggest issue was with the food and drink prices - I expect them to to be expensive, but these were higher even than that..

User

Loved the music & the venue & what a beautiful day & evening. We had to drive, no other option available to us, sadly. We parked on Gascoyne Road, when we left the venue at 10.00 we had great difficulty finding our way back to the gate we entered through, in the pitch dark. Would have been really scary if I’d been on my own. We reached the gate to find it locked, luckily the guy who locked it was just leaving & came back to unlock it, there were other people behind us also leaving by that gate. 5 minutes later & we would all have been locked in, in the dark! Sad leaving a good experience with a bad experience. I’d suggest lightning in the park & information regarding exits & gate locking.

User

Great show/event on the whole. Very tight security which I guess is too be expected these days. Site facilities were pretty good, expensive as you would expect with these affairs. Only issue was getting out - it was an utter nightmare. Not because of anything wrong the organisers did just because of the sheer weight of numbers. Nearly missed last tube as it took about an hour to get out of the site and to the tube. Everyone was filtered into one exit and one street. It seems to me that there needs to be several exits that can be used around the site. Other than that though it was great.

User

Great line up ...food awful unfortunately 9.50 for a chicken quarter badly cooked and no meat on it and uncooked chips ! Drinks prices sky high 5 for a can of cider and even 2.50 for half a coke half full of ice ! People and atmosphere good though..
