Alpha Photo Press Ltd supplies high quality and award winning editorial images to the worlds media

Alpha Photo Press Ltd was established in 1983.

There is a full compliment of experienced staff photographers working shifts seven days a week to cover news stories, photocalls, sport and commission work both in the UK and abroad.

In addition some of Britain's most renowned lens men use Alpha to syndicate their material world-wide.

Down the years, Alpha has also acquired several of Britain's most important picture libraries to complement its already extensive stock.

Alpha also has exclusive UK syndication rights for photographers working around the globe to bring the best pictures in from overseas.

All images are processed in-house and can be transmitted in seconds via a state of the art digital imaging system.

Affiliations

Alpha is a member of the Buckingham Palace Royal Rota, made up of a select group of photographers and agencies providing official coverage of the British Royal Family.

Collections

As well as images taken by staff and freelance photographers, Alpha is proud to own the Exclusive syndication rights to some remarkable picture collections acquired over the years by Ray Blumire.

In 1996, Alpha took over the syndication of some historic libraries which had been amalgamated by the previous owner. Including Barratts, Fleet Street News Agency and London News Service.

Barratts was established at the turn of the century and has great historical importance and covers all aspects of news, sports, politics, personalities and royalty in both colour and black & white.

The Fleet Street News Agency and London News Service archives covered crime and hard news stories in London from the Sixties through to the Nineties.

Alpha also has the outstanding Kenneth Scowen Collection of around 15, 000 images of the UK landscape taken between the Sixties and Eighties and the John Scott Historic Royal Collection covering 1950 until 1981.
