User

Went for afternoon tea, been a couple of times before and it was excellent as always. Lovely staff, great food and lots of tea

User

We had afternoon tea for two and it was the best IŌĆÖve had. Beautiful hotel. The food and service were fantastic. Definitely recommend.

User

Very good hotel in a great location. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Definately reconnend this hotel.

User

Not a great start to our stay, needed directions (sat nav battery died on mobile)

Tried to call the hotel several times, no answer

Receptionist very polite and professional

Have to say I was a bit surprised on entering the room, we had booked 'Deluxe' sadly the room was tiny.

I had to call the reception to ask if I was in a deluxe room!

The bathroom was again small and impractical (no shelves to put toiletries on.

Bath tub was tiny and had several large chips of the coating.

There was only a quarter of a toilet roll (no spare in wardrobe)

Sad to report that there was only 1 large towel provided.

There was an excellent coffee machine but only 2 pods provided.

I called reception and politely request towel toilet roll etc, it never arrived

Breakfast was taken care of by a lovely team of waitresses. So friendly and really looked after us

The fare was of a good standard and it was enjoyed with a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere

Really think they should drop 'Deluxe' from room description, it would lessen expectations and avoid disappointments

Just want to state I have been Airline Crew for the last 30 years, I have stayed in many hotels world wide. And this has been an honest review.

User

My sister had her wedding reception at this hotel yesterday. The room was perfect, the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. The food was very good and to top it off the DJ was excellent - good music and games for kids and adults alike.

User

Lovely afternoon tea, even catered for my friend who has a nut allergy by making a few adjustments. Great selection of sandwiches and cakes, would highly recommend!

User

Had a lovely night at The Ambassador Bloomsbury Hotel. The room was very nice, with everything we needed including a docking station radio for iPhone & a decent coffee machine. The wet room meant that there was a decent size shower. Despite being opposite the lift on the second floor, the room was nice and quiet. The breakfast in the morning was very good - buffet breakfast with hot cooked food, cereals, fruit & yoghurts, cheese and cold meats. The hotel was a short walk from Euston station, so well placed to get wherever you need to go. Overall very happy.

User

Had a brilliant time here. We were celebrating our 30 wedding anniversary. Staff were excellent- very polite and attentive, we were even given a cake with candle on - a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend- doesnŌĆÖt have to be a special occasion just go and enjoy the finer things ’┐Į

User

Absolutely lovely hotel, staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The room we had was on the 4th floor overlooking the main road, it was a standard twin, it was spacious with comfy beds, kettle, coffee machine and lots of choice for drinks. We had bottled water and biscuits in the room also. The bathroom was a wet room, so be warned, everything gets wet, haha but the shower was lovely.

We had booked for afternoon tea with a Groupon voucher, the staff were very accommodating as our daughter did not like the drinks that came with it so they happily offered her an alternative.

Continental Breakfast came with the room, there were plenty of choices and was extremely tasty.

I would completely recommend this hotel, and the location is a 2 min walk to Euston station & tube line.

User

While the hotel does boast a plush look, our room was very small for a double.

The bathroom was nice but also very small with it being a wet room, the floor was also very slippery after having a shower so be careful because you could slip and break your neck.

The bed itself has left me injured with horrible back pain resulting in me sleeping on the floor, only to be told by reception this morning that they are in need of a refurb.

You get 2 free bottles of water in the room with the usual tea and coffee facilities.

The bar seating area is very small with the restaurant area being larger.

The hotel does have a lift which is a big plus.

Staff seemed quite friendly.

My recommendation is that I personally would not stay here again simply based on the fact that the bed mattress has left me in pain.

Breakfast was also ┬Ż26 per person for 2 days which feel is a bit over priced.

User

We bought breakfast vouchers but ended up having to send ours back because the bread was all mouldy. Lots of people had the same problem. No refund was offered, reception didn't seem to care. It's quite scruffy, the receptionist had buttons missing from her shirt and no one explained anything to us - deposits, weren't mentioned when booking. It felt really dodgy. Restaurant staff were lovely, we booked afternoon tea for ┬Ż25pp but they added a ┬Ż6 service charge to the bill without mentioning it. We thought that was a bit steep considering we were only bought over a pot of tea. Very little in the way of sandwiches and cakes to considering it cost us ┬Ż56! Room was fine. Didn't fancy using the wet room though as it had dried crusty stuff in the floor tiles.

User

Tiny room, felt claustrophobic. Wasn't a fan of the wet room bathroom and shower either as everything got soaked and had to wait the floor to dry before I went back in. The location is good, staff were nice and food was ok. If I was to stay again I'd definitely book a nicer room.

User

Tiniest hotel room I have ever seen - but to be fair it was a last minute booking. Some of the staff friendly others tutting a little bit when asked for full addresses on the invoice.

Used the gym - a small room in the basement. A bit unsettling being down there alone. No fresh water or two. No remote for TV and could find the on button.

Was clean. Breakfast was nice. Wouldn't be a first choice hotel again.

User

Gone for afternoon tea, nothing very fancy..standard fingers sandwiches few bits and pieces of pastries but nothing special ..

User

*Honest review.

Staff friendly, room nice but rather small, although we paid for a deluxe room & I'm 98% sure we got a standard! Plus, some things were a bit dusty. Wet rooms do as they say...wet EVERYTHING through. Close to the tube for commuting. I'd say it was overpriced as we usually stay at the Apex which is of the same star basis & similar pricing but I would say the Apex was a good couple of stars ahead of this.

User

Went for dinner at the restaurant las night, food was lovely and at first the service was attentive. This was a special meal for me as it was an experience voucher bought for me for Christmas by my late husband who sadly passed away in September. Food was very nice but evening was completely ruined by the Restaurant Manager/Head waiter who kept banging the till screen with a biro, it was like morse code all evening long. Two members of staff spoke to him about it but he continued (even louder), you couldn't have a conversation, at first it was funny but after an hr it wasn't. Had to ask for the wine/drinks menu and was never even offered dessert, asked for the bill which we got quickly then had to wait 20 mins to pay, not even busy. Shame as the restaurant is lovely and the food was great, spoilt the night! won't be returning!

User

We were kindly inform we had been upgraded to a premier room¤śŖ....when we arrived at the room, it was highly questionable why they called it a premier room and dread to think what a standard room would have been like.¤ż”¤ÅĮŌĆŹŌÖé’ĖÅ...

User

Was really looking forward to my afternoon tea experience with my longest friend, it was my treat for our birthdays and we hadn't seen each other for nearly a year. The day was ruined by the waiter who decided that the groupon Boucher I had given him "didn't look like the other ones they had already got! Our voucher clearly said we had booked and paid in full, the bar code was clear to see for the waiter to scan... but no he decided to embarrass us to the fullest in front of a full restaurant and proceeded to say our voucher was not right.... the fool hadn't even tried to scan it first! Of course once he had scanned IT WAS CORRECT!!!!Won't be returning! Diners next to us expressed their embarrassment for us too! No apology either until we complained to the duty manager.

User

On Tuesday 5th December we visited here for afternoon tea which was a Christmas present booked via encore, this deal also included tickets to see a show. Upon arrival at the hotel they were running late and no tables were laid despite our booking being at 3 o clock, we were eventually seated at approx 3:20. Upon being seated we requested coffee rather than tea which we were served with no problem - that is apart from the fact that it was disgusting. Then came the stale sandwiches which weren't served on the afternoon tea stand like the other tables which were now being served around us, but on a plate. We also noticed that they had a selection of pastries i.e. 2 chocolate muffins, 2 macaroons, 4 scones and cream and jam... whilst we had just the scones with a measly amount of cream... again served just on a plate. Having booked through a deal, I truly believe that we were treated as second class customers and would not recommend this hotel for afternoon tea to anyone. We have had many enjoyable afternoon teas, unfortunately this was definitely not one of them! The only positive of the whole experience was the waiting staff as they were very efficient and helpful
