I'm a Brand Identity Designer who demands robust creative brand thinking and generates creative brand content for brand-led organisations and businesses
Broadly, I'm a senior brand creative with more than a decade and a half experience in graphic design and, mostly, top-tier London-based brand consultancies. Now, more commonly, I work with transmedia brand agencies who specialise in up-front creative brand thinking, which often includes generating strategic ideas and brand names
Defensibly, I'm the originator of the role description 'Brand Identity Designer'. I use this description to establish a point of reference from which to understand how brand strategy, design and creative brand content generation adds value to business
What distinguishes me from most designers who claim to 'design brands' (an often misunderstood and flawed ambition) is that I generate strategy-led creative content for business with a focus on brand identity. This includes generating ideas for business so that brand acts as the organising principle for everything a business does. Typically, this means taking a brand strategy, which should also be a demonstrable grasp of the business strategy; putting the brand strategy through its paces and ensuring that it's well-set to lead a purposefully directed and evocative brand experience. . .
