About Angelique Hartigan - Artist
Angelique is a successful artist living and working in the picturesque town of Maldon on the North Essex Estuary. Originally from London Angelique still frequents London for inspiration and exhibits her work in a prominent South Bank Gallery. Angelique participates in other key London events; the Dulwich Open House in May each year and the now well established Affordable Art Fairs. Angelique developed her unique trademark style by moving away from traditional easel painting to a more energetic technique that better reflects her personality. By laying the canvas on the floor, Angelique is able to move freely around all sides, working continuously, dripping, spilling and throwing paint on in layers. The image builds before your eyes into majestic landscapes, park scenes, city street views, architectural representations of landmark buildings, plus of course personal commissions for private clients, notably for weddings, special birthday occasions or Angelique’s unique interpretation of your house, which prove very popular. Angelique’s paintings are vibrant with explosions of colour and movement. The
constant changing seasons always offer new ways to see and explore places and her paintings will often include the people that occupy them at any given point in time. Angelique will constantly search and find a different way to see familiar places, buildings seen through trees or from odd angles and which reflect her experiences of living in London. Also seasonal country scenes we often wish we could capture as an image forever. By expressing her personality in this way Angelique finds freedom of expression and interpretation of the subject matter.
