Anna Sudbina Studio Description

Without obvious foothold in reality Anna’s body of work attempts to go beyond the plain description of a natural world. This free-floating and impressionistic version of reality that is proposed by the artist, only takes shape in the eye of a viewer as a feeling, an experience, a hazy recollection drawn from childhood, titillating the imagination and speaking to the subconscious.

She studied Languages and Psychology in Moscow before moving to London where she graduated from Central St Martins.

Coming from a great tradition of Russian abstract avant garde artists such as Kandinsky, Malevich, Chagal, her work draws upon newer ideas taking as its inspiration digitisation, fractals, contemporary design and innovation, quantum mechanics, the infinite and the unconscious.

Her artwork has been featured on Saatchi Art being selected by chief curator Rebecca Wilson.

Anna also works in collaboration with luxury brands designing custom-made textile prints and decorative surface patterns. Her work had been selected by Mario Testino for his High Plains Drifter shoot for UK Vogue in 2012 and since then appeared in numerous fashion publications and art press. The designs sell in Harrods, Browns Focus, Brown Thomas, Net-a-porter, Matches Fashion and many other boutiques across the world.
