Congratulations to the AAC’s female wakeboard ace Capt Charlie Hay, AAC for taking 4th place in her competition at the 20th IWWF E&A Cable Wakeboard Championships 2018. The championships are currently being hosted at the Wakeparadise Milano Cablepark. Capt Hay said on Instagram: ‘Happy to take 4th at my first Euros. Congrats to the other girls ... especially #teamgb teammate @stephcaller.’

Today, Thursday 16th August 2018, the funeral of L/WO2 Adam Roots AAC, takes place in Wattisham, Suffolk.
L/WO2 Adam Roots AAC died on 25th July 2018, following a tragic accident whilst on leave in Switzerland.
Senior officers and serving personnel from across the Army Air Corps are gathering to pay their respects to L/WO2 Roots and to express their heartfelt condolences to the family he leaves behind.

MEANWHILE IN A HANGAR IN WATTISHAM: Work on the Apache aircraft due to take part in Exercise Saif Sareea 3 in Oman in October, continues apace writes CO 4 Regt AAC, Lt Col Richard Ball, ahead of the aircraft's transportation at the end of August: 'The Apache are being prepared by 72 Coy, 7 Bn Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers - REME. 'Once In Oman, the aircraft will be flown by 664 Sqn, 4 Regiment AAC and will be live firing as part of the fire power demonstration.' #YoE2018

Congratulations to LCpl Fran Derbyshire, 2 Regt AAC, Women’s Individual Winner of the Army Cycling Road Race Series (ACRRS) 2018. LCpl Derbyshire’s score boosted AAC’s overall women’s team to 3rd place overall in the Championships. Earlier this year LCpl Derbyshire’s was presented with a trophy at the AAC Female Focus on Sports AGM for her contribution to AAC female sport; as well as road cycling she also plays football with the Royal Engineers Association Football Club, a mixed Corps women’s football team. Congratulations and welcome to the three soldiers joining the Army Air Corps from the Army Training Regiment Winchester. They've been awarded the trophy for best British Army Team 2018 beating nearly two dozen other teams for their #soldierfirst attitude, demonstrating the fighting spirit of the #JointHelicopterCommand & braving the heat of the Dutch summer to take part,' says CO 4AAC Lt Col Richard Ball. ⠀ 'This year, over 44,000 participants, including approximately 6,000 military personnel too part. This report just in from CO 4 Regt AAC, Lt Col Richard Ball: 'Fourteen members of 4 Regt AAC Workshop (Wksp) recently took part in the Nijmegen “Vierdaagse”, marching 25 miles a day for four days. 'This year, over 44,000 participants, including approximately 6,000 military personnel, braved the heat of the Dutch summer to take part. 'Embracing the spirit of the Vierdaagse, the team from the Wksp showed unrelenting enthusiasm... throughout, and fully embraced the Nijmegen experience. 'For their efforts and attitude, 4 Regt AAC Wksp were awarded the trophy for best British Army Team 2018, beating nearly two dozen other teams, demonstrating their soldier first attitude and the fighting spirit of the Joint Helicopter Command (JHC).'
