Nice 80's Fender Tele in for a fret dress and service. Very deep grooves in the fret wire to be filed out and then re-crowned, dressed and polished. New scratch plate added and the usual service tweaks.
Masked of fretboard for protection. Removed fret grooves. Re-crowned, dressed and polished frets.... Trus rod tweak. New scratch plate mounted. Electrics cleaned. Thorough play testing.

For this week only I've had a new teaching assistant.

I recently undertook a full Telecaster build for my student Tony. We used high quality parts from Warmoth, Iron Gear and Gotoh and the result is a superb Telecaster with genuine character and individuality.

Lovely Gibson S-J200 in for a recent service and set-up. Although it's a really nice guitar it was suffering from a severely high action from the factory set-up. A little magic worked and it now plays like butter! Work undertaken:
Lowered saddle Re-cut nut slots (lowered) Oiled all raw rosewood (dry fingerboard and bridge)... 2 stage fret polish (mirror finish) Truss rod tweak Thorough play testing (my favourite part) Clean and polish
