Lots of lovely fresh pork available including, leg, shoulder, belly, chops and rack. Lane is still a bit slippery today so caution is required but we’ll be open again on Monday!

Annual TB test for this lot today. Some of the girls on the left have been with us since they were calves nearly 9 years ago, so are old hands at the process, although it’s always the same ones that go straight through the cattle crush (where the vet injects them) and the same ones that plot to escape!! Now a 3 day wait to see if anything reacts to the test.

The weather forecast says it’s going to be bitter next week so if you need to stock up on logs please give us a call! We have 3 size loads available for delivery - priced at £125, £155 and £190 or you can pick up a tractor bucket load of logs from the farm (by appointment) for £60. Henry’s new piglets - snug in the straw!

Not the greatest photo but these are our new chicken and guinea fowl chicks. They arrived yesterday and are snug as bugs under their heat lamps! In response to customer requests we are hoping to add free range chickens and guinea fowl to our repertoire with availability from late spring. We will keep you posted!

The order book is still open for our turkeys, geese, gammons and Henry's ducks! All of our poultry are free range and traditional slow growing breeds which makes for a tasty, succulent Christmas dinner. We can do turkey crowns and boned and rolled joints if you fancy something different from the whole bird. Our gammons are smoked or unsmoked and can be on and off the bone. We also supply our own sausages, bacon, chipolatas and sausagemeat.
We sometimes struggle to get larg...e geese but this year the weather conditions have suited them and we have some big beasts (!) so if you would like a goose to feed 7 or 8 people do drop me a line as we have some in the range of 6.8 - 7.3 kg (15 - 16 lbs)
Our ethos at Ashford Farm is very much supplying direct to local customers, many of whom have seen the birds out and about all summer and autumn.

Today the NFU has launched its #buymyturkey campaign to support British turkey farmers. Please do consider buying a farm fresh, free range, local British turkey straight from the farm gate. There are a lot of turkeys available for sale in the supermarkets but surely it's better to have been able to see the birds out in the fields and know where they've come from and to buy local.
At Ashford Farm, our turkeys are slow growing traditional breeds which mean they are fully ma...ture and have a brilliant meat to carcass ratio with a self-basting layer of fat for a succulent, tasty Christmas dinner! They are dry plucked for a quality finish and game hung so they have a good flavour (none of the bland, turkey has no flavour, comments here please!!)
Our turkeys (both bronze and white) have been out in the fields on a daily basis since July, terrorizing the local walkers and horse riders! You will drive along the lane and suddenly see them perched on the fenceline - I think it's turkey oneupmanship!
