*DAY 3* All about our Jewellery range! AURA QUE products are individually handcrafted and the unique story behind each AURA QUE product enhances its charm! ✨Our recycled glass beads jewellery is handmade by a team of Nepalese women who take the work home to complete around their family commitments, giving them more flexibility with their work. ✨Our Brass Jewellery is cut, assembled and polished at the jewellery workshop at a World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO)certified colle...ctive in Kathmandu. ✨Our brass jewellery uses only nickel-free findings & the JANGALI recycled glass necklaces are made with macrame cotton thread - being long enough to put on without needing a fastening. ✨Laura enjoyed a cup of lassi on a very hot day with the artisans who make our new brass jewellery capsule range....read more on her most recent blog post!

*DAY 2* All about our Dhaka range! AURA QUE products are individually handcrafted and the unique story behind each AURA QUE product enhances its charm! 🌺Dhaka is a beautiful handwoven fabric from Nepal, with infinite colour and pattern possibilities! 🌺It was traditionally handwoven on wooden looms in Palpa and the hilly areas of Eastern Nepal, passed down from one generation to the next. 🌺Due to the labour intensive nature of this handwoven fabric, we try to use this mate...rial in a considered way within our designs to reduce wastage and have the most impact for our customers for cost-effective products. 🌺Laura has designed a gorgeous selection of bright dhaka accessories, check out the DHILO purse, NARAM make up bag, CAMKU pencil case, SAJI throw and MORE...all online to buy direct with us on our webshop or click on images below.

*DAY 1* - All about *ceramics* We wanted to give you some background behind the designs Laura has made for the next few days. AURA QUE products are individually handcrafted and the unique story behind each AURA QUE product enhances its charm! ☕️All our stoneware ceramics pieces are unique, made by hand on the potter's wheel from a mix of local clay, with any hand-carved pattern added before each piece dries in the sun, and then glazed at high temperatures in large ovens. ☕️The workshop is near Bhaktapur, run as a family business by two brothers, Santa and Laxmi. ☕️Handmade within a World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) certified collective in Kathmandu. ☕️And did you know that they are dishwasher and microwave safe!! Yay!😆

Did someone say Fathers Day? How about a beautifully hand crafted AURA QUE pen? ✒️The MORLEY fountain pen is a beautiful hand-turned and polished pen in recycled whisky barrel wood, a sturdy design with medium nib - makes an excellent gift. 🖋The EMLEY ballpoint pen is same design, ALSO in recycled whisky barrel wood, with a twist mechanism. ✒️Handcrafted, turned and polished by Martin in his small woodturning workshop in West Yorkshire. 🖋Your choice of a Chrome or Gold finish. These would be a lovely Fathers day gift, together with the AINA leather pencil case. Click on images to find out more!

AURA QUE offers many unisex accessories and make great gifts for Fathers Day🎁... so if you're looking for an ethical choice for the 16th June, then look no further. Belts, wallets, scarfs and the beautifully hand-made Pens would be our suggestion:-)... but TODAY is all about the leather items we stock....And see Rizal making the brass buckles, by hand. 💙Our leather is sourced from a small family tannery in Kolkata and road-freighted to Kathmandu, to be used for all our leathe...r and suede products; all chemicals used in the process are contained and reprocessed within the water treatment facility on site. 💙Unless otherwise specified, our leather products are handcrafted with unlined leather and finished with antique brass fittings. 💙Handcrafted by a small artisan workshop in Kathmandu. 💙They employ several members of staff who they have trained in leatherwork skills, with owner BJ producing the patterns himself, as well as making and coordinating the workshop productions.

💪The strong and beautiful PYARO bag. Made with heavy cotton Dhaka fabric, this is a durable bag with a *timeless* style. Read all about how our Dhaka fabric is created here in Laura's blog: https://www.auraque.com/blogs/news/dhaka- weaving. ***Handmade by artisans within a World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) certified collective in Kathmandu. These bags are stitched in the WFTO member workshop which employs over 25 women, giving them opportunities through work. The worksho...p employs several deaf women who communicate with the production manager using sign language.*** Definitely a bag to beat the Monday blues!😉

Did you know it was 66 years today that Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary were the first people to summit Everest in 1953? In contrast, this year the Nepali government issued the highest number of climbing permits, and last week, over 200 people summited the great Mount Everest in one day, with queues to the summit at perilous high altitude... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7Xzrh6co X0

*AURA QUE does homeware* The PRANA cushion and the SAJI throw/rug make beautiful soft accessories to compliment your home.💙 Made in Nepal, our heavy cotton Dhaka is handwoven outside Kathmandu at Hari's workshop where women including Hira, Laxmi and Mayaju, weave the traditional Nepalese geometric dhaka designs into the weft of the looms. 🌺💐🌸 These products are made in a World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) member workshop which employs over 25 women, giving them opportunities through work.
