Babees Boutique has been a labour of love for me since January 2014 when I discovered the art of papercutting whilst looking for a unique gift for a friend who had just had her second. With a degree in interior architecture I have always loved anything creative and I realised papercutting was something that I could do alongside bringing up my daughter and later on my son. It enabled me to use my creativity and design skills to make something that could be transformed from a digital image to a piece of artwork handcut using only a scalpel from a single sheet of paper.

When I started my journey into papercutting the majority of my pieces were personalised, family trees, wedding /wedding anniversary pieces and handmade gift cards. To this date, these are still my favourite pieces to design and cut. I love that because they are handmade the result is that there are never two identical pieces created, and they really do make perfect unique gift for any occasion.

In 2018 after many years of hesitation I began selling my designs as templates for others to cut for themselves. This has pushed me to continually produce new designs and my business has grown massively in the past year.

Based in a small office area in the hallway of my Gravesend home, I am extremely grateful to everyone who has supported me, bought a piece of my work over the past 5 years and supports any small business like mine. I love nothing more than being given a brief idea and creating a piece of art from that, so should you be looking for a unique piece of art to gift, or to keep for yourself which has had many hours of love poured into it, a papercut may be the perfect solution.
