Alongside home baked favourites such as frosted lemon cake, mini Victoria sponges and cheese scones we have cakes that are suitable for customers with dietary restrictions. These include treats such as lemon polenta cake, fig loaf, cranberry flapjacks and almond milk scones. If you have any questions please ask - we bake the cakes ourselves and we’ll do our best to help with your req...uests.From the garden, we will have plants, especially some very nice geraniums, tomatoes and courgettes, and new seasons broad beans and possibly salad for this market. Included with this month’s crafts are London print bags and foldaway cotton shopping bags which fit neatly into a handbag; baby bandanas and bunting - some for the garden and some for our American friends to celebrate Independence Day.

Please join us this Saturday 4th May 2019 from I to 4 pm at the #balhambowlsclub to celebrate the end of winter! We can't promise the BCM producers will be dancing around maypoles but they will certainly have a fine range of home baked cakes and savouries to help you get into bank holiday mood! It's still a bit early for fresh veg from the garden but fingers crossed there will be some watercress and rhubarb to whet your appetites. There will definitely be a full selection of ...plants: tomatoes, peppers, chilli, aubergines, yacon and sweet potato for veg; geraniums, perennials, begonias and other bedding plants for flowers. All you have to do is plant them up and wait for the results! The market will be in the back room of the Balham Bowls Club as usual and there'll be plenty of room to sit and enjoy a cuppa and a piece of cake while catching up with friends.

With Easter just around the corner, we hope you will join us this Saturday 6th April 2019 from I to 4 pm at the #balhambowlsclub We will have hand made Easter cards and gifts including hand knitted egg cosies, hand stitched felt Easter brooches and bunting - perfect alternatives to chocolate! On the garden produce front, there'll be chard, purple sprouting broccoli, the first of the rhubarb, watercress as well as sweet potatoes and squash. We will have some frost hardy perennial plants including pretty small alpine phlox, ground cover geraniums, blueberry bushes and verbena We'll have our regular selection of home baked cakes, preserves, soda bread, savouries and garden produce. The Market will be in the big room at the back of the Club again this month so there's plenty of space to linger over tea and cake.

Our next market will be on Saturday 2nd March 2019 from I to 4 pm at the #balhambowlsclub Join us to celebrate St David's Day with some delicious Welsh cakes.Cooked on a cast-iron griddle, these circular delicacies made with currants and mixed spices are a teatime treat! We will also have our usual extensive range of home made crafts including earrings, coasters, cards for all occasions, hand-turned wooden bowls for trinkets and many other things that make the perfect gift.

Valentine's Day will soon be upon us and if you're looking for inspiration on how to spend it with that very special person in your life, then come along to our next market on Saturday 2nd February 2019 from 1 to 4 pm at Balham Bowls Club 7-9 Ramsden Rd, London SW12 8QX Please note that this time we'll be in the area between the main bar and the garden of the Balham Bowls Club.
As well as our usual mouth-watering home-baked cakes and savouries, we'll have a special range of ...Valentine themed delights such as Heart shaped shortbread and fancies that you can be sure will melt the coldest of hearts.
What better way to while away a long romantic evening at home than sharing these delicious treats snuggled up together on the sofa. Just watch out for the crumbs!

We'll have the usual selection of mouthwatering home baked cakes, sponges, soda bread, savouries and a range of hand made crafts.

We’ll have a variety of hand made cards, handcrafted jewellery, decorations and handmade wooden bowls - perfect gifts for Christmas.

As we go towards Autumn making the most of the sunshine, sweet green grapes, fresh young rocket, watercress, kale, carrots and Autumn Crown squash will be on sale this month. The first of this years chutney, made early in the summer from runner beans, yellow courgettes and tomatoes has now reached maturity and is ready for sale, as is a new batch of chilli jelly.

While we have been enjoying the glorious weather, our vegetables have not fared well in this very dry season, so just a few vegetables this month. Make sure you come early to buy extra tasty freshly picked sweet corn, new potatoes, courgettes, beetroot, salad leaves and juicy sun ripened tomatoes.

We’re hoping for a good turnout for BCM this Saturday 7th July at Balham Bowls Club as we cheer England on and a WIN will definitely call for a celebratory cake! We open 1-4pm so there’s plenty of time to browse our craft and food stalls before kickoff. We’ll be serving tea and freshly baked scones and cakes and we’ll be offering tasty complimentary treats to customers.
STOP PRESS! We’re holding an extra Market on Saturday 21st July as part of Balham Bowls Club’s Summer Party celebration. All our usual producers will be there and we’ll be serving Cream Teas throughout the afternoon. The Market starts at 11am and the Bowls Club is organising a whole weekend of fun so come and enjoy the atmosphere.

Time is whizzing by - the next market is tomorrow Saturday 2nd June 2018 1- 4pm Balham Bowls Club, 7-9 Ramsden Road, Balham, SW12 8QX The producers will be in the back room as usual and they'll be laying on a fine spread of homemade bakes, savouries, crafts and homegrown garden produce to tempt you in. The tables will be groaning under the weight of mouthwatering cakes such as Sticky Ginger, Lemon Drizzle, Coffee and Walnut. Fresh from the allotment, we'll have cabbage, salad..., and rhubarb with a possibility of broad beans and mange tout. There'll also be a selection of vegetable and flower plants, and a couple of baskets already planted with trailing cherry tomatoes, marigolds and curly parsley. And if you're looking for inspiration for a gift for someone special, you're sure to find it among the cards, jewellery and other homemade crafts that will also be on offer.
