Just a quick reminder that our parent and toddler group will be closed 28th/29th May. We look forward to seeing you all again on 4th/5th June. Have a wonderful half term break!
Today is Candidates Sunday in the Salvation Army. A time to think about God’s calling in our life, and seeking what he has planned for us, as we continue in our series of Jesus calling to the broken and fragmented community of disciples after the resurrection. This year the theme for Candidates Sunday is “Be Obedient”. God’s call is for everyone. But no two people are the same. from the youngest to the oldest, here is a time to listen and respond to God’s call.
Doors open at 10:00am, with Coffee, followed by worship at 11:00am, Sunday School at 11:20am and Fellowship after the meeting.
Don’t forget to bring your gift of money for those training to be Salvation Army Officers as we will taking up a collection to help them this morning.
Please remember our communities as we come to terms locally with another stabbing with tragic outcomes. Praying for the family and friends of the individual, all who witnessed it or responded to the 999 calls and the community around as they struggle to come to terms with what has happened. Lord in your mercy hear our prayers.
It has been a joy this evening to have been invited to attend the 25th Anniversary Celebrations of the Al-Risalah Education Trust. Meeting past and present students, hearing the thoughts shared from Trustees, Councillors, Directors of Education and Children's services in both Wandsworth and Lambeth Councils and discovering Sadiq Khans connections with the trust over the years has been enlightening.
Lord have mercy on us and lead us in ways to to help bring peace in our communities. Amen. Yesterday 6 individuals were stabbed in London. 2 in Hounslow and individuals in Tooting, Tottenham, Barking, and Blackheath. Praying for them, their families, friends and those affected by this.

Life seems so full of negativity and worry at times. Why not give it up and try a more optimist way of looking at the world. You might surprise yourself!
Thoughtful morning. Open the eyes of my heart Lord to....... So much happening locally, within the church, the community, among family and friends. So many opportunities God show us your vision.
We've safely arrived at the Growing Leaders residential weekend. Good evening thinking about developing character for leadership.
Had the privilege of receiving a Highly Commended Award on behalf of our Charity Shop Volunteers at the BATCA Local Heroes Award evening. Well done to all of them.
Has this period of Lent stirred you to reflect and give up something so you are able to help others? Here's a challenge - which would you find easier to give up?
We pray for everyone in New Zealand, offering practical support, solidarity and compassion. May God have mercy on us all as we struggle to comprehend what has happened and work through the numbness, shock and anger in the days ahead.

#StandwithNZ – Balham and Tooting is an area of diverse communities and individuals, and yet In difficult times we come together. Awesome! Our thanks to BATCA (Balham and Tooting Community Association) for facilitating this moving vigil for all affected by the atrocities in New Zealand.
